I hope our D rewatch this game and pay close attention to how fast Burns gets his shot off from the point, it rarely if ever gets blocked… our D stick handle a few times so EVERY player can get into perfect position to block it and its then dumped into the corner…

Steel played pretty well at 1C tonight.

Gutsy point, I think Carolina will be pissed how they played tonight… they let the Wild hang around and it cost them… watch out for Aho in OT

Goose… What a fun night for him and his family. Class player his whole career.

Felt almost like the Wilds season was hanging by a thread there in the 3rd period. Getting shutout at home.

Big OT win. Love Deano’s reaction after the game. Hope it’s a catalyst…

they did not play well tonight but got the win. the wild just seemed slow tonight, and the puck never seems to bounce in the right direction for us all year.

Happy to see Goligoski get that game winner. Probably one of the toughest seasons of his career. 1000th game and the OT winner after not playing for a month. He deserves that one.

Steel might be a fit on the top line. Kid proved he could score in lower levels and he played a helluva game tonight. Would be huge if he could stick on that line.

pretty sure his 1,000th game was a few weeks ago (this was just the celebration of it) but cool timing nonetheless…

We’ll see with Steel, we’ve had other players step in and play well for a game or two, but fall apart after that…

It was a gutsy win for sure, but we didnt get Carolina’s best game and we we’re absolutely desperate (Kaprizov probably played his most minutes in the NHL) but we’ll take the 2 points!

Petan was noticeable, him playing might be an opportunity to send Rossi to Iowa for a few weeks to get some confidence back..

They played against a team that they need to play like in order to win. It was pretty tight checking game all night. Carolina doesn’t give up much room.
Steel looked good but part of that is our other options have looked terrible.

All I had to do was mention Gologoski and DE exhumes the body and he gets the game winner. Yep this win might just have saved their season if they can build off it like the next three or four games. If they drop the next two or three this game will mean nothing. I was confused by the Gologoski celebration too. I was pretty sure he played #1000 awhile back.

I think they do games played celebration games AFTER the fact because to officially have the game count you need to play a few shifts in it. It would look really bad to plan a celebration and you get hurt in warmups or the first shift of the game and then its not official and you couldnt show up for it anyways?

I say this because a few weeks ago when Phil Kessel broke the consecutive games played record they didnt stop the game to acknowledge it until mid-way through the 1st period…

Yes it was awhile back obviously, but they were celebrating it.

Besides the goal I actually thought Goose played pretty well.

He was well rested and a bit pi$$ed off because he’s been scratched for most of the season so he was clearly motivated. He can’t play like that consistently is the problem.

And how do you know that?
He did for over 3/4ths of a season last year. Much harder to play well after sitting that long than playing day in and day out.

Agreed, the ole rest vs rust thing. He was one of the best d men in the league stats wise for most of last season and then wore down. He can still play, but I don’t think it’s every night. It did seem bad to sit him that many games. Especially with how poorly the D have played in not contributing anything offensively.

He was making mental mistake after mistake in the preseason and early regular season games, it was bad and most likely the reasoning for him getting sent to the press box (Addison’s emergence and Merrill’s injury return 5 games into the season the other factors…

He had 2 suites full of family and friends at the game last night, so it was likely the most motivated he’s been to play in years…

They most likely play him the next game or two now that he’s the talk of the town, but I don’t expect much… plus who would sit out? Likely Merrill, not sure you sit your PP1 QB or other guys making $6 million+

People complaining about him being a healthy scratch making $2 million, well he has a NMC so he cant be sent to Iowa without his approval, so its his choice to either play hockey in Iowa or practice with the team and then sit in the pressbox….Again I go back to the likely handshake deal he had setup with GMBG when he signed the 1 year UFA deal for a 2 year extension to follow afterwards to ride out his career (so imo he knew this would be a 1 year spot start/injury replacement/pressbox tour before being bought out in year 2) GMBG honored it because a GM keeping their word is important and it would get out around the league if he doesn’t (like how Vegas is viewed now)

I’m wondering when we are going to see a tweet from Russo saying Rossi is headed to Iowa. Healthy scratch last game. I think it’ll be good for him honestly. At this point being up with the big club isn’t helping him.

Looks like Gologoski will QB the PP1 unit tomorrow night… other than not shooting (which i’m guessing is a coaches decision) what has Addison done wrong? He’s been getting the puck to the boards players just fine, they are the ones not shooting or trying touch passes that fail miserably…The personelle is fine, just tweak the strategy…

Deano seems to be a bit in panic mode imo…

Yeah, sitting Addison makes little sense to me, but Goli deserves another game I think. Sounds like Rossi is likely headed to Iowa.

Personally I didn’t think Addison was doing anything all that great. Seen him pass it to the other team quite a few times.

As he should. Not like he’s been a problem but he’s clearly not ready to be an impact player.

Goose deserves to be in the lineup but they clearly don’t want him playing with Addison. Still weird to health bomb the PP1 QB though and not a long term solution.

I’ve defended Dumba forever but there’s something wrong with him this year. It’s like he forgot how to play the game and looks like an overmatched rookie most nights.
