I’d love to get an honest answer from GMBG if they were planning (hoping) this would be the case with the salary cap when they decided to go all in on the buyouts?

I’d really hope he wouldnt be “counting on” something like that with the state of the seasons the last few years. I mean, he would have had no way of knowing if there were going to be shutdowns, no in person viewing, etc like 2 years ago.
If the cap jumps by 4M or more that would be fantastic!
BTW somebody’s 0 has got to go tonight! I cannot believe the Canucks have held multiple goal leads in I think every game and lost them all. We havent even had a lead.

Rossi practicing with the PP2 group today, so that likely means he’s back in tomorrow, which leads to the question of who’s out? I think they keep Shaw on the 4th line and give Steel a night in the press box…we’ll see…

I agree on Steel over Shaw seeing time in the pressbox. He’s also skating with Gaudreau and Boldy. That is a good sign to me. Does sound like Dewar might be the odd man out since Steel is with Jost and Duhaime.

The lineup they have in practice today is what they should roll with for like 4-5 games in a row and then re-evaluate imo. The only spots in question I think are Jost & Hartman and i’m fine with Hartman getting the nod, he’s earned it from last year, BUT he needs to pick his game up a notch or two or Jost is waiting…

GREEF Line intact making its season debut tomorrow night. Interested to see what Greenway will look like. Supposed to be down quite a few pounds. Which utterly shocks me after seeing what he came back to camp like a few short years ago. Perhaps he has matured?

No, he was with Greenway and Ek.

Saw something on FB that didn’t list him, that’s why I asked cuz I hadn’t heard or seen anything elsewhere. Thank god.

Yeah, a lot of people were tweeting partial lines. One of them said Greenway is with Ek, but didnt mention Moose. It was later confirmed they were all together by Russo and others.

Dewar and Shaw out. Rossi on the second line. Will be interesting to see how quickly Greenway can get back into shape. Having the GREEF line should really help the team.

Really interested to see if Rossi is more engaged on the second line.

    From Russo this morning practice.
    Kaprizov-Hartman-Zuccarello
    GREENWAY-Eriksson Ek-Foligno
    Gaudreau-ROSSI-Boldy
Jost, Steel, Shaw, Duhaime, Dewar rotating in on 4th line.

Looking like no Shaw and Dewar for tomorrow’s game.

But the real question is, who’s in goal? coffee

They need to come back with Flower, no need to hide him or protect him, he’s a veteran…

I’d replace Steel with Shaw, from what i’ve seen of Steel, he doesn’t play a 4th line style of game…Shaw was perfect in that role the other night…not a big deal though, i’m just glad they are putting Rossi in a position to succeed, they need to give him 4-5 games in that spot though….

Good lord Hartman…..I hope he wakes up soon. Fleury is fighting it too (not hating, honestly). On that second goal it looked like he couldn’t decide how to play it. Need to get his confidence back somehow too if this thing is going to turn around.

No soft goals from a goalie standpoint I don’t think but d coverage isn’t great.

    Agreed.

I’m kind of interested in Steel with KK and Zucc. Very small sample size but he’s been noticeable with them tonight.

Steel playing well tonight, thats twice in two games Kirill got beat defensively 1-1 resulting in a goal…blame goes all around…Hartman is just lost out there, that lack of backcheck effort wont sit well in the locker room… dont get me started on Dumba tonight…Flower making the saves he needs to… defense is just non existent…

He and Hartman were both a little better third period.
    Dumba needs #55 back.
Steel had a few really good shifts that period too.

I love 3 on 3 over times. If a team takes a penalty in OT, it should be 3 on 2!

Thank God! Boldy was insane in OT. KK seals the deal.

Seems crazy to say already but they needed that win. Starting the season 0-4 on a 4 game home stand would not have been good!

Greenway with a shoulder issue again but it’s not same injury? Same shoulder?
