That the one where Breadman straight up manipulated him?
Yeah, he just flipping stood there. I mean, I can do that.

well, if you go around one way, Panarin simply skates in front of the net with the puck the other way…i’m more worried about Brodin not knowing a pass is coming through right to Fox or the other Ranger skating right down the front of the crease with nobody covering him…
Might give up 7 again tonight. Fleury must feel like he’s still in Chicago. I don’t think he’s helped much in last game and the first part of this one, but he’s getting hung out to dry on many of them.
Cam Talbot right now
This team has looked putrid
Only bright spot was boldys 3rd period…
No excuses, just not good enough right now… at least the Wild are scoring goals too, so we just need to figure out how to play defense…
Players are saying the right things after the game, they know they’ve played atrocious, I still say fixing defensive problems is alot easier than not scoring goals…
What number will Bedard wear for the wild and how soon is too soon to retire it?
The Fleury signing is going to be Geurin’s first really bad move. I said it during the offseason and I’m going on record to say it again. He’s not going to be good this season. These first two games the D was atrociously bad, but he isn’t going to steal us any either.

I completely agree with you. I thought it was interesting for a playoff run, but not for a whole season.

That’s like blaming the Vikings woes on Kurt Cousins. They have been playing 4 on 4 Beer league on D.
Unfortunately Talbot wasn’t going to steal any games either. It’s not as if Cam is some young promising goalie. I wouldn’t have felt better signing him to a longer extension at 35. Which is what he wanted.
I was fine with them extending flower. They needed another goalie on a fairly light contract. How it played out I don’t think was the plan.
So not sure what fans expected them to do. They were not going to go out and get Vasilevsky.
I was concerned about the goalie situation going on once Talbot was moved. Our D has been uncharacteristically bad they better get that figured out soon. Its not really about personnel either which makes it really concerning. When Merril comes back that should help, but geez these guys look lost. They looked great in the preseason, but not its like its a cast of rookies out there.

Can you blame him? He didn’t lose a game for the final 2 months of the regular season and then they tossed him in there in an impossible elimination situation against the Blues in the playoffs. Then they get rid of him in the off season. I’d be pretty upset about that all that too. I bet he’s laughing about it now.

I said in my post it’s mostly been the D’s fault. But I think Fleury’s floor is much lower than Talbots because of the style of play Fluery has. He sells out on everything and sometimes comes up huge. You can bash me all you want for it, but I’ll be right here saying I told you so if he is brutal this season. The Vezina cred is no longer valid. He isn’t that guy anymore. I said it last season and I’ll keep saying it this season.
Several line changes and Rossi out tonight allowing Shaw to play….don’t freak out, this is the easiest lever for Deano to pull right now (sit the kid with the fewest games played)
Jost centering Kaprizov and Zuccarello, Hartman on Ek’s line…
Not easy to right the defensive ship against an offensive powerhouse like the Avs, so not sure what to expect tonight, you should at least see defensive improvements positionally and system wise, if not, then there’s bigger problems at play…
The sky is not falling, Flower is not washed up…folks need to chill a bit… I’ve counted 2 maybe 3 goals that Flower was at fault on, otherwise its been a friggin shooting gallery on him for 2 games …
Those lineup changes will be pretty interesting to see in action. Hartman has been basically terrible so far, but few players have looked good, but his penalties have been very tough on this team.

They didn’t get rid of him he wanted to leave.
Guessing he isn’t laughing too hard considering he is not playing and the team he is on is also 0-2 with big expectations. Why is that Ottawa hasn’t extended him. 🤔
Since this site won’t let me quote a quote right now.
Mahto-I don’t think I bashed you anywhere in my post. Sorry you feel that way.
They needed to sign a second goalie either way. Flower was the best of the bunch that would sign even remotely close to that.
Cam is the one that did not want any part of that rotation.
I bet he’s laughing about it now.
Doubt its since he’s injured.

I just realized that.
there’s confusion now in terms of the lineup, Zuccy came off the ice early today and they subsequently pulled Rossi off so he doesn’t participate in the bagskate, so maybe Zuccy out and Rossi in… we’ll see tonight….

You weren’t bashing me. I got it from you guys last season for saying I didn’t think they should’ve signed Fleury because I didn’t think he was any good anymore. I’m just preparing myself.
I’m also not saying the sky is falling here, but Fleury is lauded in this thread like he’s still a Vezina winning caliber goalie and he’s just NOT that guy anymore. And no, we don’t have a better option, but that’s because we signed Fleury in the first place. BG made his own bed on this one. My only complaint of him so far.

I dont think I have seen anyone here say that he is.

I have seen multiple defenders of Fleury backers here use “he was a Vezina winner two years ago” and also the “He played for the Hawks last year” lines many times.

Sure, they have said that, but nowhere have I seen anyone intimate that he is still that player. They merely brought that up to point out he was a Vezina winner two years ago. Its not like that was eons ago.
Sounds like Gustavson will get the nod in goal. Lord help him if this team plays the same way again. I cannot believe how bad they have played at home no less. Maybe they need a dang road trip. I seem to recall them having a slow start at home recently and then a road trip got them clicking.
