I think there’s a small internal team competition going on for whose commercial is the best… There’s been some good ones for sure, Greenway’s still makes me smile whenever I see it…Kap & Zuccy passing the cup is good as well…

I’m hoping there’s a Dewey 1 & Dewey 2 commercial in our future, the sky is the limit in terms of what those 2 clowns will do…

Pretty entertaining banner raising ceremony in Denver tonight. Thought it was pretty classy to let Jack Johnson out there in his Blackhawks jersey too.

Dont sleep on Vancouver this year… they have an awesome #1 powerplay and the best center depth in the league with Miller, Petterson and Horvat… Not sure how they can afford all 3 moving forward with Miller signed for 8 years, Horvat a pending UFA and Petterson only 2 years left of his bridge deal…

I think now that Boudreau is in Vancouver you certainly cannot sleep on them…In the regular season.

NO argument on Jackie…she’s an absolute rocket that actually has a personality and knows her hockey stuff…wasn’t she on TNT last season on a limited basis? She also does WWE TV stuff…

From the 2 games I’ve watched on ESPN sofar, it seems like they fixed alot of the TV production issues they were plagued with last year (background sounds, on ice mic levels, pre/during/post game analysis, etc…) Emily Kaplin is a great ice level interviewer, I swear I heard Leah Hextall’s voice in one of the other night’s games? is she in a similar ice level reporter role now and not a play-by-play announcer?

TNT still owns them though…was funny to hear Gretzky completely kill Biz’s analysis between periods, Biz is cool enough to just roll with it and make fun of himself…Just not a fan of Anson Carter, I find all of his takes to be so obvious that they take away from the discussion…Kevin Weeks would be better imo…

The TNT crew is fantastic. They have great chemistry. I agree 100% on Carter too. I used to like the guy, but now I cannot stand him and it started with the whole Depth thing, and then calling Russo a racist and no apology. Weekes would be a great swap. He always has a big smile and the memes of him on Twitter breaking news are hilarious.

Joe… they could put you and me as the oiler’s bottom 6 C’s and they’d still have the best center depth in the league. They own 3 of the last 6 Hart’s and 5 out of 6 Art Ross and those 2 play about 50 minutes a night combined

Biz carries that show – it centers around everyone ripping on him, including himself Agree Anson adds nothing and Weekes would be a good replacement. He’s really good in the studio but he’s doing color for ESPN – at least he was last year.

I was listening to Russo on with PA today and I still think PA is the worst interviewer as a radio host but I digress.

Russo mentioned all the different centers they had paired with KK and Zuccy. When he brought up Rask it made me wonder how many pages from last years thread that we all complained about him. I’m guessing it was over 5 pages worth haha

Good Q&A sports mailbag in The Athletic today where there are multiple questions that address the fact that the regional sports networks (RSNs) like Bally Sports are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and/or insolvency.

Multiple articles have detailed the financial woes of Bally Sports parent company Sinclair Broadcasting and it sounds like something has to give in terms of either bankruptcy or a sale. Who knows where this would leave Wild fans, as we’ve seen in the past, the fans/viewers are the last thing these companies care about.

But what a mess this is and once again, MN sports viewers could be cut off in the middle of a season by another broadcaster charlie foxtrot.

IMO the teams and the NHL just need to cut all the media middlemen out of this and take over broadcasting themselves as a fully-owned service so that broadcasting is part of the business and doesn’t have to be profitable in its own right. The problem right now is the pie keeps getting sliced thinner and thinner with some games on BSN, some are national network, and some are on ESPN+, but each of these platforms is trying to make a profit on their limited number of games. All the while, the audience goes up and down depending on who is broadcasting the game, which impacts ad rates and drives up advertiser costs.

I had heard recently the MLB, NHL, etc are considering getting the rights to game back from the Bally because of all the viewers who cannot watch them.

Isn’t that what the NFL did this season? They have their own streaming service now? I’d have ZERO issues with cutting the pre/post game shows out of the picture and just stream the games themselves…

Not sure if that is what the NFL did or not because I dont think those are generally on Regional Sports networks right?
Listened to the Podcast from Russo, Lapanta and Smith just now. Russo said that Greenway is in spectacular shape! That is fantastic news. I figured he would go all pear-shaped on the bit.

I just listenend to a couple of Wild interviews this morning and if I hear “the fans are 5-6 rows deep for warmups” one more time i’m gonna snap! Easily the most overused phrase by Wild coaches/brass/TV personalities the past 2 years…

I gaurentee LaPanta mentions it again before tonights game…

Holy hell KK’s gonna need a bigger helmet if he watched that intro. Never seen a love fest for one player like that on a broadcast.
