    That still wouldn’t matter 14+7+2=23

Don’t see them carrying 14 healthy forwards but either way, pretty sure we agree they’re not waiving a Dewey

I forgot about Greenway missing the first few weeks of the season, so yes it delays the decision….

Russo also said said something like because the Wild starts the season at home for a week or so it allows them to more easily free up roster space if needed (they can “send” Rossi or Addison to Iowa if needed)

No but they could…right now with Greenway it’s only 13. So I don’t think Steel took anybodys spot. They needed another forward besides Rossi either way.

Back to the Florida Goalie situation, Pierre LeBrun speculated that the reason for the larger deal for Spencer Knight to no brainer sign was so there would be no chance of him being offered sheeted this offseason… Wonder if GMBG does something similar with Boldy?

I still think they should start Boldy with Ek & Foligno and then go Jost/Rossi/Steel or Jost/Rossi/Freddy as the 3rd line.

Yeah they have 13 NHL forwards on the roster, that’s including Greenway. When he’s back the top 2 lines are pretty set and then it’s Boldy on 3rd line and Duhaime/Dewar on the 4th line. Leaves 3 regular spots for Freddy, Jost, Steel, and Rossi. The talk was Rossi being paired with Boldy but they put Steel there for camp and have been slotting him above Rossi. That’s the “spot” I was referring to him taking. One of those forwards will have to sit once everyone is healthy and you know it’s not going to be Rossi.

This is all pretty pointless anyway because they might never get fully healthy. Were really lucky with health last year and that’s a big part of the reason they had such a good regular season.

Why not pair Rossi & Boldy together and let them build chemistry for the future? as long as Zuccy is on the roster he’ll play with Kirill and I don’t think there’s enough puck time available for Boldy playing with Kirill and Zuccy so “spread the wealth” and keep Boldy with Rossi…

I’d be against playing Boldy with Foligno and Ek just because I don’t beleive they “think” offense the same way he does…there would be too much zigging instead of zagging per se…Boldy needs to play with offensively creative players, its why he did so well with Fiala…

but I agree its mostly pointless as injuries and Deano being Deano will happen after game 1….

Boldy with Kirill and Zucc wont happen because they need a center. Boldy, Steel and Jost or Boldy, Rossi and Jost. Read today Jost and Steel have played with and against each other and there has been evidence of some good chemistry there.
Finally was mentioned today what Greenway’s surgery/injury was, shoulder. He will likely miss some considerably time. I dont like Boldy with Ek and Moose either. Takes away from Boldy’s greatest attributes.

Did anybody notice Boldy was taking PP faceoffs in the game he played in….he did the same thing at BC and the WJC tourney…

Boldy’s a distributor who gets the puck to the middle of the ice and Ek and Foligno both shoot like 20% from the front of the net. Cmon what’s not to love lol I get it but Fiala was really good with those 2 in limited minutes. I think Boldy would be too and that line gets the most minutes 5v5 so it would get Boldy more TOI.

Either way I think we see a lot more tinkering with lines this year. In the playoffs when STL made adjustments the Wild really couldn’t because they were running the same lines since Thanksgiving and had no other lineups with any chemistry.

It is certainly worth a try. Boldy is a snipe machine in PP practice today apparently. You love to hear it.

IDK if Rossi starts between the Dewey’s that’s a little questionable.

Hartman and Freddy have no business getting any PP time after last season.

Marat K scratched last game, 4th line today and “A” removed…. Gotta love the KHL…

My first time tonight watching Wild 2022 2nd rounder Rieger Lorenz play for Denver University… omg the dude is a beast!

He had 1G 1A +3 tonight in his first College hockey game. Definitely a prospect to watch closely!

Just saw part of “Behind the Glass” with Nashville….I hope the Wild do that. Especially now with the young guys and Kirill.

Lambos finally looking worthy of his 1st round pick a few years ago…looks like a completely different player vs who we saw at the WJC…

Hunt looks good too, him and O’Rourke will be fun to watch in Iowa this year..

    Blackhawks are down bad, wow

Freddy – Hartman – Boldy could be fun if they ever want to try Jost or Rossi next to Kaprizov. And more Boldy on the PK please.

Daemon Hunt has stood out every game I’ve seen him play the last few years, real fun player to watch! I’ve never had that feeling with O’Rourke but he’s supposedly the better prospect. Kinda surprised they didn’t send Lambos back to wpg yet, the W regular season is well underway. Connor Bedard already has like 5 goals.

Hell of a night for Faber against the perennial ACHA powerhouse Lindenwood

Danila Yurov only had 20 seconds of ice time in today’s game, Khusnidhinov was the 13th forward with limited minutes the past few games…man the KHL sucks for development if you’re a young player…

Last preseason road game and the only regular NHLer on the Wild playing, well at least in the lineup, is Fleury. If they dont lose by like 7 goals I will be impressed.

The regular bottom 6 is going and Addison/Middleton are hopefully a D-pair. Dewar-Rossi-Duhaime is together for another game – they’re really starting Rossi on the 4th line aren’t they. Another game for Lambos during his WHL season, they must be enjoying his game.

I think its a smart move putting Rossi on the 4th line as long as the plan is to eventually work him into Steel’s spot 10-15 games into the season when he’s more comfortable…No need to put early scoring pressure on a rookie who has alot of expectations put on him…

Lambos got an extra preseason game as a reward for his strong last game and strong camp…they’ll take advantage and slide his ELC another year…

Russo said they have been very impressed by his play. They are giving him one more game before going back to the WHL since he cannot go to AHL.

The Blues are already doing a telecast so all they need to do is carry it…

Think the Wild are in on Patrick Kane? Makes a lot of sense to me… They have lots of trade assets, he replaces Fiala, and they’re the only contender with cap space for half his AAV right now.

I doubt it happens because Billy has been pretty stingy in moving picks, especially the 2023 1st that Kane will command. Also more teams can be in as it gets closer to the deadline or if they move out bad contacts.

Maybe a month or two into the season when they know what kind of team they have (Boldy & Rossi are key offensive contributors)…I don’t think he gets moved until the deadline though, teams won’t risk their 1st rounder in this generational draft until they have a really good idea they would be picking at the back end of the 1st round anyways…Taking on $5.25 million in capspace won’t be easy for any contender Kane would lift his NTC for until that time as well (as you mentioned)

I liked your Boesser trade idea alot better…

Kanes NEXT contract will be very interesting…he’ll be 35 years old a month into next season, he’s been relatively healthy his career but I don’t see him getting more than 3-4 years with a decent $7+ aav…

I could see them do something at the deadline, but not sure about it now. BG will want that cap space to allow for roster moves during season with injuries, etc I’d think.

Anyone else kind of surprised the Wild haven’t extended Boldy yet? The kid has looked like a stud in the preseason games he’s been in and appears poised to take a big step in his development this season, why not get ahead of that?
