That was almost 3 years ago wasn’t it?

yeah, I don’t think he has any physical limitations carrying over from his heart issue anymore (He was diagnosed with Myocarditis in January 2021). I think the Wild wants him in MN to workout not only with their Strength Coach, but also their nutritionists to help him add bulk… Offseason training in Austria looked like a joke based on what his “Becoming Wild” episode showed, no competition other than some minor hockey Austria scrubs to skate with, sure you can do similar conditioning drills, but weights and on-ice work against other Pro’s is likely much better here…
No limitations physically but he just isnt as strong as he could be. Hes not a big person so he needs to have a lot of lower body strength which was a strength of his at the draft, but had a major setback where he couldnt train.

but that was almost 2 years ago now to Rip’s point…I agree missing almost a year of hockey hurts ones hockey skills development, but he’s had almost 2 years of no physical limitations so there’s no excuse for him not beefing up (if that’s what the team told him he needed to do 1-2 years ago?) That’s the part i’m kind of struggling with regarding his development, either they told him not to bulk up the past offseasons or he just didn’t do it (I find that hard to beleive, the kid seems like he has the drive to succeed at anything)…it should be NO surprise to anyone that he needs to get stronger, all 18-20 year old rookies do…
It was nice to see him cross-check a few guys the other day in the Austria vs Denmark I watched, dude needs to play angry more often (I see he had 2 penalties in the 1st period of todays game)…aka get more “Fxxx You” in his game…
I think you are forgetting about how long it takes to just get back to where you were after not being able to do ANY physical activity for like a year. Look Kirill missed what a month and look how bad he was in the playoffs. No doubt he will be better come next season, but you just dont recover and get back to how you were overnight. Not counting getting back to where you were but he needs to bulk up beyond that which I am sure he will.
Coyotes are toast in AZ after the vote tonight. Need to force a sale there.
I hope that means Cooley at the Gophs for 3 more seasons
What a sh1t show Arizona is. Arizona Coyotes? More like the Arizona Memorial Bettman Eternal Dumpster Fire.
Will this finally be a clear enough hint that Bettman will finally figure out that Arizona doesn’t care about hockey?
The owner of the Jazz will (finally) end this Bettman Buffoonery and move the team to Utah. Bettman obviously has issues with Quebec City as he has passed on them time and again. It might be as simple as he was looking to move one of the East Coast teams that were floundering attendance-wise but I can’t see that happening now with Florida and Carolina both making deep runs.
Regardless this Arizona situation has been allowed to linger and make the NHL head office look inept for a decade longer than it should have.
Houston makes the most sense since it wouldnt mess with Conference Alignment.
The NHL needs new leadership, Bettman is completely out of touch with today’s sports environment as evident with the complete disaster of the NHL All-star game, draft lottery, game tv schedules and any other major event they put on…Just look at the technology tools and level of polish of any NFL/NBA event, the NHL isn’t even at their JV level…
The Athletic put out a story today with their Top 10 NHL Playoff Disappointments (players)
Toronto Big Four was #1
Artemi Panarin was #2
Kaprizov was #3
Bo Horvat #4
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was #5
Charlie McAvoy was #6
Vitek Vanecek was #7
Stuart Skinner was #8
Spurgeon was #9
JT Compher was #10
Not surprising, but adds context to the 1st round loss and your best players need to be your best players or your bottom 6 needs to outperform to make up for it…
lol, Jesper Wallstedt stopped 8/9 shots in the first period and then faced ZERO shots for the rest of the game!

I hope he faced no shots at least.

yeah, I added “faced” lol, I supposed that looked bad…
Who should the wild put on LTIR for the season to help with cap issues?
So glad I went to bed after OT1. Bill Zito sure looks like a genius for that Tkachuk trade now.
Dubas out in Toronto… good thing GMBG was extended earlier this year…
Yeah that somewhat surprises me, but not that much at the same time. Id have to imagine the coach is next.
Florida vs Carolina and Dallas vs Vegas, screams Hockey especially in May and June!!!
Looks like we may be on the verge of the top seed in the west versus the bottom seed in the east. Didn’t see that one coming.
All four games in the conference finals have gone to OT thus far.
Yes, it’s against Hungary, but at least he said “F it, i’ll do it myself”
Marco Rossi just went end-to-end for a spectacular goal. 1-1. Big one for Austria. #IIHFworlds pic.twitter.com/el1opRPYTR

I do. He is an NHL prospect playing against guys that probably couldn’t play in the AHL that parted the Red Sea for him to skate straight in.
Don’t get me wrong I am glad he had a nice goal but it is Hungary.
Well he still has to put it in the net. We have had plenty of guys who would have still screwed that up. He showed speed, aggressiveness and finish all on one play.
Sweet goal and yeah its the Worlds which might not actually be real life, I’m not sure. It’s where Canada loses to Norway and Joe Veleno WWE stomps Nino’s leg with his skate.
