that’s funny!
FYI for the Wild ran into a hot goalie guys, the Kraken have 19 goals thru 5 games against Dallas, Wild had 14 goals in 6 games.

Outside of the 4 goal outburst in just a few minutes of Game 1 – Period 1, Ottenger has been pretty good in the series…

Give it a couple years and the narrative will slowly trickle to The 2023 Wild lost because they were too small and got pushed around. Same as it has been for 10 years.
Goalied is a good Option B though
I think it bares talking about again, of the 8 teams that got out of the first round, here’s their Playoff roster top 6 D size:
Kraken: Dunn 6′ 200- Larsson 6’3″ 209- Oleksiak 6’7″ 257- Borgen 6’3″ 204-Soucy 6’5″ 208- Schultz 6’2″ 190
Vegas: McNabb 6’4″ 214- Theodore 6’2 197- Hague 6’6″ 230- Whitecloud 6’2″ 207- Martinez 6’1″ 210 – Pieterangelo 6’3″ 215
Dallas: Suter 6’1″ 205- Heiskenan 6’1″ 195- Lindell 6’3″ 220- Hakannpaa 6’6″ 225- Harley 6’3″ 205- Hanley 5’11” 190
New Jersey: Hughes 6’2″ 184- Hamilton 6’6″ 230- Graves 6’5″ 220- Marino 6’1″ 181-Seigenthaler 6’2″ 218- Severson 6’2″ 205 (I wasn’t sure who Hughes replaced?)
Toronto: Reilly 6’1″ 222- Schenn 6’2″ 225- Brodie 6’2″ 187- Holl 6’3″ 197- McCabe 6’1″ 204- Lilijgren 6’1″ 192
Florida: Forsling 6′ 186- Ekblad 6’4″ 215- Staal 6’4″ 208- Montour 6′ 194- Mahura 6′ 185- Gudas 6′ 208
Carolina: Slavin 6’3″ 207- Burns 6’5″ 230- Skjei 6’3″ 210- Pesce 6’3″ 206- Gostishbere 5’11” 180- Chatfield 6’1″ 188
Oilers: Ekholm 6’4″ 215- Buchard 6’3″ 194- Nurse 6’4″ 210- Kulak 6’1″ 197- Ceci 6’2 210- Broberg 6’3″ 200
now compare to the Wild:
Spurgeon 5’9″ 166- Middleton 6’3″220- Brodin 6’2″ 196- Dumba 6′ 181-Klingberg 6’3″ 190- Faber 6’1″ 200
It looks like GMBG has some work to do to epitomize Grit first on the backend…outside of Middleton and Dumba’s big hit every now and then, nothing about our Top6 D says they are physically tough to play against during playoff hockey…If you look at the previous 8+ years of playoff results, I bet they mimic this chart pretty close…

Holy hell this was a joke….

funny, I didn’t even see your post, seriously, I was chipping away on that Defense size post for a few hours…watching the game last night, it just struck me how big Seattle’s Defenseman were so I had to look them up this morning…

I’ll have to look, but I don’t think I do either!

Never thought about that. Pretty lame.
Impeccable timing
kinda weird if you ask me, took me awhile to pull the info together, wanted to make sure I got top6 playoff guys
Man, Florida has completely bought in on playing an ugly brand of hockey, but it’s obviously effective… Wild’s top players need to buy into that mentality… Barkov dumping and chasing on the forecheck is a perfect example…
Lol, Kyle Dubas freaking out in the press box regarding the puck across the line Waaaay after the whistle… he knows the rules, what a jacka$$

I never heard a whistle but the play was obviously over when O’Reilly pushed it in.

only time the puck crossed the line was 5+ seconds after the players stopped playing (refs likely yelling the play was over, I agree I didn’t hear the whistle too, sometimes the Refs assume the other ref will blow it and it just never happens, obviously the players heard something and stopped) and Bobrovsky released his frozen pose against the post and his getting up motion knocked the puck a bit..it was never shown to cross before then though…of course Maple Leaf fans will live on that excuse momeent until next season now…
Lundquist rubbing it in to Biz during the intermission show was just golden…
Crazy how superstars can get shutdown sometimes in the playoffs… We all said how the F did Kirill not produce in the 1st round??? well look at Austin Mathews in the 2nd…
Hell of a game! Wild just moved up to #21st pick in the draft, thx Florida!
Radko Gudas lol what a mutant
I hope Eric Staal gets to another finals post Wild career

Can you pull the height of the defending Stanley cup champs please? And do an average height?
Wild are same average height as Florida. Just sayin.
Hate to break it to you but it is not going to change for a while for the Wild. Their number 1 prospect pool that is d heavy and everyone is jacked about isn’t exactly big….
Spurg obviously affects your average.
So 1 guy at maybe 2 inches is the difference in the cup. Well hell should be easy to figure that out.
Its more about the beef and play style than just height…Klingberg bumps up our height but he’s hardly a physical body mover, same with Merrill…. Obviously the taller & heavier guys are the perfect combo, they block more shots and eat up more space in front of the net and their bodies dont wear down as fast…
Remember Sam Girard got hurt earlier in the playoffs last year…
I agree its not going to be a quick change for the Wild, Spurg and Brodin are locked in another 4? years and you mentioned their D prospect size. This has obviously been a Management decision, but you cant argue with the size makeup of the final 8 teams….
Size does matter, but there has always been guys who are big that play small and small guys who play big.
But talent being equal the big man wins.
The size issue is exactly why Addison should be traded. Spurgeon may be able to be serviceable but a team can only afford 1 undersized defenseman.
I know a lot of people will think I am crazy but BG should try to trade Spurgeon for salary cap room and more size on the backend.
The killer is his nmc.
Not crazy but not likely either for more reasons than NTC..Agree with pretty much everything you said.
damn smart move by DeBoer pulling Ottinger…let him clear his head for game 7…
