So I said he would be an all-star top line player and that’s not enough? Crosby got to play with Super Mario for a 1-2? years, then future hall of famers Malkin & LeTang the rest of his career, Ovi got one of the games best setup men in Backstrom a year into his career…Would their careers have been different if say they were drafted by Columbus like Rick Nash was and never had good teammates for a majority of their career? who knows?
I’m just saying Bedard will need elite talent around him to get the most out of his game…until we see if that happens, it’s foolish to anoint him the next one imo…
Don’t forget this is the best draft of all time even though the top pick may be a fringe all star. So we should have no problem getting our 1C of the future (Sarcasm again captain)
I didnt notice the sarcasm font my bad.
Bedard: 5′ 9.75″ – 185 lbs
Draft Crosby: 5′ 11″ – 193 lbs
Draft Kaprizov: 5′ 9″ – 176 lbs
LOVE the .75
Yeah I don’t think Malkin Letang Backstom etc. made Sid and Ovi who they are. I think Sid and Ovi made those guys HOFers.
You know Bedard’s career is more than 3 years long right? Chicago will get good players just like pens and caps did – both were bottom feeders when they drafted generational players.
Also Joe get off my Twitter feed lol that’s gotta be you right? I see you’ve upgraded…
Ouch that can’t be good. Sitting two full seasons at 30. Ooof
They should probably just trade McKinnon to the wild in 2 years.
Wow blatant cap circumvention this is BS
my guess is he’ll get bionic implants (paid for with LTIR money) and be crowned the next “Bedard” upon his return…
Wait Landeskog is already a proven fringe all-star top line player
exactly, he’s a Bedard…

oooooooooffff
My favorite from the Draft Lottery… I mean seriously NHL… wtf
Nice to see the hawks have a great likelihood of bouncing us again from the 1st round in the future. That won’t sting at all.
I wonder if the Hawks will take the BG/DE approach to developing prospects with Bedard? You have to earn it while you languish in the AHL while tearing it up and then watch your team sign a bunch of old vets just to further block your development. Then you finally get a cup of coffee with the big team before the trade rumors start.
It’s a proven method for sure.

Well I doubt Bedard will be the worst player in the NHL through his first 20 games so comparing him with Rossi is apples vs. ball bearings
More of a comment on what seems to be their method and less than player comparison. The Wild seem to have little patience with their prospects in terms of development. They seem to think they are just one or maybe two players away from winning the Cup. So they plug Rossi in the bottom part of the line up because he has less chance of hurting them but also the less chance of succeeding for what 19 games before exiling him. These signings of all these older vets points to BG thinking if one of these guys get ressurected they are in on the Cup.
Just need to let go of the Cup dreams for a few years and suffer the growing pains of these youngsters. I think Addison would have been helpful on the PP against Dallas but they don’t trust him. They will be forced to use these prospects sooner or later but by waiting to develop them they increase the risk of losing 97 in a few years. If they wind up trading Addison and Rossi they will experience sellers regret in about three years. They aren’t trying to build a franchise around KK they want him to be the franchise. Even McDavid can’t be that and KK is no McDavid.
I’m now convinced the way they handled Rossi this season was due to a combination of getting off to a terrible start resulting in the coaching staff panicing and reverting back to a more veteran lineup, thus no patience for the inevitable Rossi rookie growing pains. Rossi is also to blame for not taking the bull by the horns when given the few chances he got with decent linemates, and those linemates also struggling the first 20-30 game sof the season, outside of Kirill, Ek and Zuccy, nobody else was scoring… (what were Boldy’s stats the first 30 games of the year 5-5? He got almost all of his stats from the PP1 unit)
I think next year they’ll let Rossi work through any growing pains he might have vs just sending him back to Iowa (same with Faber and any other rookies called up)
Boldy is like 6 months older than Rossi. They put vets on waivers to make room for Dewar and Shaw. Kaprizov is obviously different but they tossed him right in as a rookie. Brock Faber??
Rossi was terrible this year and that’s no one’s fault, some guys just take longer to develop. This top 6 or trade him narrative is just f’ing nuts. There’s players all over the NHL, some even in the HOF, who didn’t take off until they were closer to 25 than 20. Relax.
If you still can’t relax go look at Roope Hintz’s development. Go look at JEEK. Look at Zuccy. And the best example, Marty St. Louis
I agree…
Tage Thompson
Johnathon Marschessault
Joe Pavelski
Etc Etc Etc…
Curious who all theses prospects are that they held back.
Sure seems like they threw Faber in the fire. Boldy and KK.
Greenway before BG.
I’m just glad the Leafs won so now they can get bounced at home in front of the most annoying fans in the world.
Department of player safety will be busy today after the end of last night’s games… That Pieterangelo slash was just brutal…

I just watched this and wow that was bad! He should definitely be suspended.
I went to bed apparently right before the matching Yamamoto/Stephenson misconducts and looks like it really escalated from there. Embarrassing for Pietrangelo… couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy. He’s getting 1 for sure maybe even 2 games. The Kane crosscheck/boarding has the built in excuse that Petro turned at the time of contact so I doubt he gets a suspension. The Nurse instigator looks pretty stupid so I hope he gets out of the mandatory suspension, was a really good fight.
How about Bennett? He thought he was in the octagon!
Almost forgot about that one. What a scumbag
Puck over glass penalty just sent Carolina to the Conference Finals
Haha ya that was lucky but I think they’ve looked pretty good. I could see them winning the Stanley Cup.
