Reaves in his season ending presser said “a lack of discipline” cost the Wild the series… Kind of a shot across the bow of some players and the coaching staff imo…
Lots of players giving their exit presser this morning, I suspect the Coaches are probably tomorrow and GMBG the following day? Really curious to hear what Billy has to say…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22835May 1, 2023 at 1:07 pm #2200113Im really optimistic about Haight and Yurov too. It sucks that our optimism is more around the prospects and the draft vs actual playoff success though. We need to get this thing rolling or KK is gone.
May 1, 2023 at 1:24 pm #2200120Its funny how everyone (fans/media) are trying to give Kirill an injury out for his playoff performance and he won’t take it, repeatedly says he’s 100% healed..

Or maybe at himself. I think Reaves had the only (??) after whistle scrum penalty that gave Dallas a powerplay
Really interested in the Ek situation. He didn’t give many details other than confirming it was a broken fibula, doctors cleared him, and it didn’t hold up in the game.
If he waited another week or 2 weeks to the normal broken fibula recovery timeline, would that have happened?

wasn’t that mostly all at the end of the game 2 blowout though? He also got a 10 minute misconduct? I think he had a total of 14 minutes in penalties, most if not all at the end of game 2?
After that sentence he also mentioned they can’t complain or worry about the refs so much…
tswobodaPosts: 8532May 1, 2023 at 1:47 pm #2200133Reavo got a “too much stinky glove” penalty against Benn in the middle of a game, I don’t remember which game. Actually I completely forgot about the end of game misconduct parade but I’m not sure if any of those penaltis actually gave anyone a powerplay.

from what i’ve read, yes, it should have been fully healed in another week or two, so there was risk for re-injury if he played sooner and that’s exactly what happend. After re-injury they typically then do a surgery to ensure the bone fuses correctly and aligns properly, which is exactly what he did. He’ll be fully healed in a few months…

I just looked it up, he got a slashing penalty the last half of the 3rd period of game 2, Dallas didn’t score, then got the misconduct at the end. He then got the penalty against Ben in period 1 of game 3, Dallas didn’t score on it…
To me it felt like he was speaking directly about Foligno, Hartman and the Coaching Staff losing their cool regarding the Refs, Dallas then scoring on the Powerplay and then complaninig about it too much…He said it was one of the reasons he was brough in to the Wild…lack of dicipline….
tswobodaPosts: 8532May 1, 2023 at 1:58 pm #2200142Yeah great point I forgot Reavo’s stupid penalty doesn’t count because Dallas didn’t score on the ensuing PP

You can say that about every UFA though, if they don’t like the climate or the City or the People, they will leave anyways, nobody wants to live where they are miserable…and when they earn UFA status, that’s their right…All the GM can do is put players around him to be successful, obviously the buyouts put a big dent in that scenario, but hopefully Kirill can see what’s coming in 2 years in terms of preospects and Salary cap space and see how the Wild have a window to win…and i’ve said it before, what contending team is going to have the $14+ million aav in capspace to pay him on his next deal? Typically just teams rebuilding do….

lol, like a stink fist doesn’t happen in EVERY scrum after every whistle…it looked like the Ref just called it because his helmet came off and if you watch Benn, he ducked his head to help it come off (smart if done on purpose)…
tswobodaPosts: 8532May 1, 2023 at 2:05 pm #2200149So just to confirm Reaves penalty in a scrum after the whistle, he did nothing wrong? But you’re criticizing Foligno’s penalties where the league officials came out and said on record that the refs were wrong and Foligno should not have been penalized?
Helmets coming off after the whistle is *not* a penalty, only during regular game play. Good try with the edit. You try so hard to defend the guys you like and bury the guys you don’t.
And I said 100 times Foligno screaming at the refs is a joke and Dean screaming at the refs is a joke and either of them talking about it in pressers is a joke.

Here, I used your website this time:
Rule 51 – Roughing
51.1 Roughing – Roughing is a punching or slamming motion with or
without the glove on the hand, normally directed at the head or face of
an opponent, or if a player intentionally removes an opponent’s helmet
during play pursuant to Rule 9.6.
Roughing is a minor altercation that is not worthy of a major
penalty to either participant. (An altercation is a situation involving two
players with at least one to be penalized).
51.2 Minor Penalty – A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player who
strikes an opponent with his hand or fist, or if a player intentionally
removes an opponent’s helmet during play pursuant to Rule 9.6. This rule was put into place after players figured out the loophole regarding removing their own helmets to fight, there’s the hilarious video showing two players pulling off each others helmets to get around it…last time I checked fights happen after a whistle…I said it’s a possibility because the ref points and calls the penalty on Reaves immediately after Benn pops up with no helmet on…if he called it for just the stinkface, that’s the mother of all joke calls…
My Foligno criticism was all about the timing of his penalties, down 1 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd and then the first few minutes of the next game after he critized the Refs in the media and they were just waiting to call him for something, he gifts them a kneeing penalty that carries a mandatory misconduct…
The league statement was rediculous and imo was put out just to quiet all the ref hate going on around the league. The play was reviewed for 5+ minutes by those same League officials in Toronto! who they ruled it was a 5 minute major… it was their call…The former ref during the TNT intermission break explained why the call was made per the rules to a T…
tswobodaPosts: 8532May 1, 2023 at 2:48 pm #2200162Here, I used
your websitethe actual NHL rulebook this timeGood start there with the right rule book but somehow still got the rule wrong ?? Taking someone else’s helmet off after a whistle isn’t a penalty. You even bolded the part where it says during play. Ask your pal Russo if you don’t believe me

Avs and Bruins out in R1, bet that parlay would have paid!!!
May 1, 2023 at 3:04 pm #2200169no, I read that part and I get why it’s a tough call because a helmet could just fall off my accident…if that’s the case, that it must happen during play, then the point of the rule makes zero sense since the reason it was added was so players didn’t take each others helmets off to start a fight…Fights happen AFTER a whistle, there’s no fight going on during game play… It’s most likely a Refs discretion call then…

Moose will be gone this offseason…his caphit is more important to the team than he is…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22835May 1, 2023 at 3:19 pm #2200180My BFF Russo confirmed GMBG and Coaching Staff will give their end pressers tomorrow… I think we could see an agitated GMBG tomorrow because you know he’s going to be asked some tough questions on how things haven’t changed…
Gitchi GummiPosts: 3045tswobodaPosts: 8532May 1, 2023 at 3:32 pm #2200189this thread is more entertaining than the Wild’s postseason was.

May 1, 2023 at 4:12 pm #2200201In the end they were just another typical Minnesota Sports team. Get their fans all excited and then lose in the 1st round of the playoffs. After watching all the playoff games, I feel the better team won. I also feel like they were terribly out coached. I keep reading here how when 5 on 5 they were the better team. Its sure didn’t seem that way in Game 6. At one point late in the 2nd period Minnesota had 2 or 3 more power plays than Dallas and had 1/2 as many shots on Goal. That does not sound like a team that’s winning in 5 on 5 situations or even a 5 on 4 Situation.

May 2, 2023 at 8:31 am #2200255to add fuel to the fire, the NHL did NOT promote the Ref crew that worked some of the Wild/Stars series (game 4 for sure) to the 2nd round…
