I don’t think Ottinger has been a hot goalie, his numbers say average (although last nights game helped those numbers alot)

until last nights cluster F, the Wild have been scoring on him just fine (for the playoffs) and that’s not including much help from the PP…

All I’m saying is the PK D have been put in a position to fail. Dallas PP is about creating 2v1’s right in front of the net and then just throwing pucks there. Wild are selling out to front everything and block the puck from ever getting there but every time the puck does get to the net they are completely screwed.

I agree with you, it’s a shame the Wild coaches are so clueless…

I’m not one to like to Blame the Ref’s for a loss but, That 5 Min. Major call on Foligno was total BS. I can see the call being made on the ice real time, But it should have been changed after the Offcials review it. There is also no way it should have been a Game Misconduct call.

If they call it a major, the Game Misconduct is mandatory to go with it. That’s for pretty much all of those reviewable 5 minute majors, the Game Misconduct is automatic. For that knee I thought it could go either way, knees are tricky and it looked really bad in real time. Foligno constantly screaming F-YOU at the refs and calling them out in the media the day before probably didn’t help his case.

Otter stole game 4 but last night looked like Gus in game 3… bored.

my last comment on the Wild until Friday’s game, I think they win Friday and then Game 7 is a coinflip imo…Wild have to stop beating themselves…

Curious to see how the Avs respond tonight…

With the Wild determined to go down again in round one flames, at least there are some other interesting matchups to watch.

The Butt Kracken seem to have Colorado a little rattled. Add in some internal weirdness in the Avs team and this doesn’t look like the series most thought it was going to be.

Apparently the Bolts were expecting a bit of a different series against the Leafs as well. This could get really interesting.

Unfortunately I think the Wild of squandered their chances. When they had two chances to take a serious lead and don’t do it, well that’s almost never going to turn out well. Add in the refereeing, the missing Ek and the woes on the PK and power play and the deck is highly stacked against us. I’ll still be there cheering them on but I don’t have high expectations let’s put it that way.

Obviously the team misses JEEK, but I don’t see Shaw getting the recognition he deserves. He was easily one of our best penalty killers and a great presence for the team.

Regardless, the Wild are on the brink of defeat, and it’s already been established that changes are going to be made for game 6 (maybe too late?) To be totally honest I wouldn’t be surprised if Fleury is in net tomorrow night.

I don’t think this team is out by any means. They’ve shown they can dominate at home and steal away games, but they have yet to get it all together. We all know exactly what they have to do to win, it’s just a matter if they can play a clean game. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being their most physical game of the year, though.

Like true Minnesota fans, we watch our team not matter how disappointed they make us. I just hope they can work out a little magic before the curtains close on another season.

Doesn’t matter who is in net if they play as poor as game 5. Having said that they should easily start Gustavsson. He is capable of stealing a game I don’t think Fleury is anymore.

If they start Flower, this coaching staff and gm have lost their marbles.

It wasnt a bad game by them. Dallas cant do anything at 5v5. Overall they played very well but too many penalties leading to PPG the other way and literally nothing on our PP to give us a glimmer of hope.
Did you guys see the NHL commented on the two penalties called on Foligno in the game before and said neither should have been a penalty? BOth led to goals. Stolen game.

We can split hairs if it was a bad game I guess. I understand the reasons why and what you are saying. But getting shut out and not scoring a goal is a bad game IMO. (Not to mention the poor PK and PP)

It was a bad game in the sense that they lost and didnt score, but they still generated chances. Eventually those lead to goals. I expect a spirited effort tonight.

I sure hope so, last year in game 6 they stunk it up from what I remember. Hope they do not repeat that.

Man this Nichushkin story is starting to get really weird. Team Doc went to check on him in his hotel room after he went missing only to find an extremely intoxicated Ukranian woman who said a very bad man took her passport. Nichushkin had already left.

I have no clue what actually happened here but it’s starting to go down a dark path.

Joe Pavelski could return to the lineup tonight for Dallas. He is a game time decision.

Oh, oh. Team with the first goal has won the game. Will the Wild end the streak?
