Yeah Dumba will be missed for the physicality that he brings but the rest not so much. Faber is just so much better defensively already.

Don’t disagree on Faber looking the part but they will lose some physical presence on the back end especially if it is a combination of Merril goose and Addy.

Dumba is batting about .150 on connecting with those big hits this season, and the majority of the time when he does connect, he ends up getting a penalty because the Refs refuse to call just the instigator penalty…

it sure worked last night though and missing Pavelski for the series is a HUGE loss for Dallas..

As I said he is the whipping boy for fans so some of you will have to move on to another player. whistling

Why does everyone hate on Suter? He was a workhorse when he played for Minnesota. A very steady player. Not a dirty one either. All of the sudden he’s the villain because he plays for an opponent in the playoffs? He’s obviously way past his prime now but I’ve never had any animosity towards him.

I’m a Badger fan so I use to like him just because he went to Wisconsin. I didnt mind him a player here even though his weak wrister was annoying. I started to dislike him after hearing all the rumors on how he was a locker room cancer and a bit of a prima donna. Now after watching the cross checks he dished out last night I fully dislike him.

Ask his former teammates what they thought of him. whistling
Hell ask BG why he bought him out. Wasn’t because they didn’t think he would not finish out his contract.
Yes he was dirty when he wore a wild sweater as well. Been throwing cross checks his whole career.
It is not dirty in the sense he is going around skew footing or taking guys head off.
He is playing for Dallas why would people gush over him now.

Did you miss the 2 cross-checks to Kaprizov’s ribs and that Suter clearly targeted Kaprizov during the Dumba/Pavelski free-for-all.

But you can’t seriously think Wild fans just started hating him now? I think the IDO nickname for him was 2nd gear Suter – he was whipping boy at least half his time in Minnesota.

Suter the player is one of the better USA Defenseman his entire career, but he has always been a sneaky dirty player with cross-checks and slashes….

Suter the person is another story and because NHL players have a code of keeping stuff in the lockerroom and because reporters want to keep their relationships with said teams/players they won’t write about what they know…but theres more than enough smoke to draw the conclusion that Suter is a total dbag as a teammate…

Because since he’s left it’s become apparent he was huge cancer in the locker room, his contract handcuffed us, we have been a better team without him even with his huge buyout impact on the cap, and he is a dirty player that has mastered the art of crosschecking guys in the back without getting a penalty called. And he’s the villian bc he cross checked our star player multiple times in the back away from the puck. It’s not rocket surgery jester

Wild hockey Twitter is really sounding off on Suter today. I read that back when he was here, the rookies couldnt go up in the elevator until after all the vets went up. That is just plain dumb. Also dont forget how they didnt even invite a rookie out for dinner so he ate alone.

Google Jason Arnott comments about Suter. They played together in Nashville. Let’s just say he wasn’t well like there either.

Wasn’t he only there for one season in Madison? Then straight to the Preds playing with Shea Weber. He does cross check a lot but that’s not anything new in the NHL. Cross checks are very common.

It’s not like I can just ask his former teammates what they think of him lol. I am not colleagues or acquaintances with NHL players.

His wrist shot from the point was never his strong point. His strength was his endurance and durability. He often played half the freaking game when he was younger.

If he was or is a cancer in the locker room, I have no way of confirming that. Parise was a long time teammate of his, I’d be interested in what his opinion of Suter is.

Arnott was the Captain for most of Suter’s time in Nashville

Here I googled it for you.

“I knew both of them were going to be huge, great players. The attitude of [Suter] was night and day to [Weber],” Arnott said on the Cam and Strick Podcast. “All he would do was complain about how come he’s not on the power play, how come he doesn’t play enough, ‘I can’t believe this guy’s making this much money.’”

I’m like, ‘Dude, it’s your first year in the league. You’re going to make so much money if you keep going the way you’re going and how good you are. Why are you worried about that right now? And it’s your first year. Just go out and play stop complaining about everything.’ So that was his mentality,” Arnott added.

He did make his money. But I heard he was a huge distraction in that dressing room. Knowing [Wild GM] Billy Guerin, he’s not putting up with that and he’s cleaning house. And now look at them, he’s built a phenomenal team without all that money and distraction,” said Arnott, later adding, “I heard they hated him there.”

As for Guerin, Arnott also played with him in Dallas and recalled him being very intense and not afraid to get in his or any other player’s face.
“Like nose to nose and be ready to throw down if I got mad. He didn’t give a poop,” Arnott recalled. “But yeah, as soon as he went [to Minnesota] I’m like yeah, 100% [Suter] and Parise are gone

Geez you guys are all over me like stink on a monkey. chased

I just checked the box score and he wasn’t called for a single penalty last night.

I didn’t see anything beyond the first period. Forgive me for not staying up until 1am on a Monday.

I’ll take your word that he was a problem in the locker room at times.

Spot on about Suter. I’ll just add yes he was an efficient defensiveman but soft as heck. Not a leader, just a whiner. You could tell eventually with his body language and interviews. All the stuff after he was shipped just confirmed that. I hope Reaves punches him square in the nose.

Faber is amazing. Can’t believe he went straight from playing for the Gophers, to the NHL, to playoff NHL hockey in just a couple weeks.

I’m probably older than you, but I remember when Gopher Steve Christoff won a gold medal, then signed with the North Stars and had a nice long playoff run with them. Ken Morrow “isn’t one of us”, but he won a gold medal and Stanley Cup in the same year. It’s only one playoff game but I’m impressed with Faber. Heck, he can’t even get into a bar or rent a car yet. The future is bright for the young man.

Sounds like Ek got a rest day after three hard days of skating.
I think he plays tomorrow night.
    Who comes out?
I know everyone will say Steel but dang tough to take a guy out after he single handily tied the game.

I’ve been a Dumba tire pumper for years, especially come playoffs when he’s always been one of the few who elevates. He was the whipping boy last year playoffs when he was playing with broken ribs and coming off a punctured lung. He physically couldn’t ice a puck on the PK but overall his game was still solid. There was lots of hate from Wild fans though

I remember losing my mind over that Reaves/Suter hit – pretty sure it was called a 2 minute interference or roughing. Funny how so much can change in less than 2 years

The playoffs are a different game. Way more physical. And the Wild have bowed out early time after time because they got bullied out of the rink. So personally I’m delighted to see somebody on this team play a little smash mouth hockey during the playoffs.
