    https://www.nhl.com/video/hartman-suspended-one-game/t-277440360/c-16571353

These videos are hilariously cringey but the DoPS explanation is what I was saying earlier. If you’ve played hockey you know that all Hartman was trying to do on that play is hammer Ehlers – there was nothing natural about his positioning there. I mean Ehlers never even broke stride that’s how much he was caught off guard. And if you lay the hammer on someone, in a manner that’s an obvious penalty, you get suspended.

And for Ehlers and everyone else who wants to F with Kaprizov… if you wanna play extra physical against Kirill you better keep your head up – even if you don’t have the puck. Maybe just leave Russian Jesus alone.

Favorite part is “we have heard Hartman’s explanation that he was simply bracing for an inevitable impact. we disagree.” gotta respect the man for sticking to his story lol with Hartman you know it was with a completely straight face too.

All I’m saying is it’s not worth a 2+2 and possible suspension imo.

The 2+2 is still a joke – shoulda been 5 and a game and then roughing minors on Winnipeg Namestnikov and Wheeler

Edit we were at 174 pages on this date last year.

But season and playoffs started late last year, right. So how many pages were we at game 81?

I dont know how I could even figure that out and it would take a lot of time -)

Get out of here with your logic and rational explanation from the league! You wanna try and run the King, you get whats coming, and Hartman should be rewarded by the league…. rotflol jester rotflol (I’ll take my football and go home to the NFL threads lol)

No player is off limits. That includes McDavid, Pastrnak, Kaprisov, Crosby, whoever. I have absolutely no issue with Ehlers or any other player placing a clean, non-penalized, non-suspended/fined hit on an opposing player, regardless of who it is. If there is some retaliation, as was the case here, its going to be illegal and therefore will be subject to a penalty, suspension, and/or fine. Just because Kaprisov is the best player on the team doesn’t mean he’s untouchable.

You’ll have to take that up with Mr. Hartman because I’m pretty sure he disagrees with you.

I was kind of mad they even put the top PP out at the end to get hacked on a few more times. They should’ve gone straight to the Reaves/Foligno/Duhaime beef line.

That coach is a clown for ragging on Deano for putting them out there. I wish he would’ve hopped over the boards to get rag dolled by Creed.

I was at the game last night, it was pretty crazy in person! It was the first game my wife has ever been too, needless to say she was entertained lol.

Can’t believe we didn’t score a couple more goals, those pipes were brutal and Buyck made a HUGE paddle save.

I must say I’m glad I didn’t have my 6 year old at the game, couple dudes behind us must have dropped about 800 F bombs throughout the game, spilled their beer all over our feet, and were just dumb drunk hockey fans. One puck came into the seats near us and a lady kind of snagged it away from another couple, but then gave it to a little kid who was at his first Wild game. That was pretty cool!

Crowd was just rowdy though. Some dude tried to throw a full beer onto the ice after the cross check on Johanssen. Hit the plexi glass like 4 inches from the top, and got a whole bunch of people wet.

I was trying to keep an eye on Rossi when he was on the ice and he seemed pretty invisible for most of the game. Puck seemed to bounce off his stick a lot and he always seemed to be chasing the play. He did have one good shift in the 3rd with about 12 minutes left though, some good board work and a real nice centering feed to one of our defensemen(I think) who stepped up into the slot. Hope he can put it together.

Klingberg looked off all game, tons of poor outlet passes and turnovers.

By virtue of the Islanders win over Montreal, the Penguins have been eliminated from playoff contention for the first time in 16 years. It was the longest current NHL playoff qualification streak in the league.

The next longest streak belonged to Nashville and Washington, each with 8 consecutive post season berths. They will also both miss the playoffs.

Toronto is now the clubhouse leader with 7 playoff berths in a row if you count this time around.

2020 puts an asterisk on that streak. Penguins lost in the play-in round that Bettman strictly told us was *not* the playoffs so not sure how they made the playoffs but I know it’s counted that way. Penguins at least would have qualified if that season went the full 82, Wild were right on the bubble and lost in the play-in too but still count it as making the playoffs.

Bunch of cheaters if you ask me.

Ha…I know one thing I am ready for playoff hockey. It is like no other sporting event if you ask me.
I still get chills and tap my feet at the X during playoff games like I am still playing or coaching…

That and just battles in every game every night.

John King (hockey hair guy) has a rule no kids under 12 at Wild playoff games haha sounds like fans were in full playoff mode

Damn Dallas is rolling. Tough first round matchup for wild regardless, but like they say F around and find out.

Here’s a fun little write up! Bowness wouldn’t have a chance! lol

That is gold! Bowness would have gotten rocked and he knows it. Heck Dean beats the urine of his assistant coaches after every big win he would love the chance to beat the crap out of someone he didnt like.

IDK if this fight is the slam dunk everyone thinks it is. I mean it is but only because Bowness is an old a$$ man and Dean looks like he’s still in his prime. But in their actual playing days I might put my money on Bones.

Tale of the tape has Bowness at 6’1″ and Deano at 5’10”
Bowness 3.2 fights per season in 5 partial NHL seasons
Evason 3.5 fights per season in 11 NHL seasons
Bowness 2 best minor league seasons he had 200 and 160 PIMS

“You’re not getting out of a 7-game series alive against the Minnesota Wild. And if by any chance you do happen to survive your encounter with these lunatics, you’ll be barely held together by duct tape and bubble gum.” Hahaha I didn’t realize the Wild were considered that tough/physical of a team!

When healthy they are. Hartman, Reaves, Foligno, Duhaime, heck even Dewar is physical and he is small. I dont know where they rank in the league regarding hits, but they are a pretty physical team.

Definitely more physical than any years past that I can remember.

I don’t have very high expectations, but, echoing an earlier statement, its really hard to beat watching playoff hockey. The whole game, from start to finish is entertaining. There is no other sport like it!

I navigate around ESPN+ and try to catch all of the first shifts of every playoff game because they all rival the Hanson Brothers first shift in Slapshot… it’s a beautiful thing NHL Playoff Hockey!

What a way to go out though, right? The crazy part is he played actual NHL playoff hockey games 2 seasons ago. Now he’s playing right wing with 2 dudes in their first (only?) NHL game
