The Boston Bruins have tied the all time record for wins in a season with 62 after a 2-1 win over New Jersey.

Connor McDavid also eclipsed the 150 point mark this season with 2 goals and an assist versus the Sharks.

Faceoffs will be the biggest concern from a Center perspective moving forward. Ek improved alot this year, especially on the more crucial ones… couple of clean losses led to Blues goals last night…

Hartman’s play has done a complete 180 the last 30 or so games, I think he can fill most of the gaps with Ek being out. The 1st line played and generated chances like a 1st line should last night, wonder what was different )

Since I was watching the gophers I saw very little of the game but how did Nyquist look? I think he got an assist.

he was rough at the start but got better as the game went on, had 2 really nice primary assists…

Centers did ok against a non playoff team last night. Playoff time centers winning draws against good teams 7 games in a row gets to be a little more important. 2 or 3 draws in a series could make the difference between a one and done or moving onto the 2nd round. We waste way to much time and energy chasing the puck after loosing face off’s. It’s even more problematic with how many pk minutes we rack up and how much we ice the puck for no d@m good reason late in the season and going into the post-season. Could become much more apparent in the post season playing against top end talent every game when the pressure is ramped up. That line on the pk last night that spent the whole pk on the ice was gassed. Do that against Dallas or Colorado in the post season and they’ll eat us for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Finally figured out why the Ek shot block looked so familiar… Here’s Coyle a few years ago – broken fibula and out 5.5 weeks. He had surgery though and no word on whether or not Ek had surgery. Still think 4ish weeks or start of the 2nd round best case ontario

Sounds like they are settling for the 3 seed. Several guys out of lineup tonight. Faber and Rossi are in.

    Johansson-Gaudreau-Boldy
    Nyquist-Steel-Foligno
    Petan-Rossi-Hartman
    Duhaime-Dewar-Reaves

    Middleton-Addison
    Goligoski-Faber
    Merrill-Klingberg

    Dumba extra

Smart move IMO, writing is on the wall – just root for Colorado now
    I think I see 3 playoff lines and a playoff D-pair in tonight’s lineup

    Dumba extra

    What does that mean?

He is the extra player that is in Chicago.
    The 4 regulars stayed home.

Dumba skates warmups and only plays IF one of the 6 D starters gets sick or hurt during warmups…

Strange they wouldn’t play their full lineup tonight and then decide to sit guys tomorrow if Dallas wins and they are locked in the #3 slot…especially with Dallas being on the road the next 2 games…seems like they decided to cater to the home fans getting a fuller roster vs still pushing for the #2 spot…

Really excited to watch Rossi tonight, he’s had great chemistry with Petan down in Iowa so I get the line decisions…

Dallas holds the tie breaker over the wild so they are more than 2 points in front. They should still be able to take it to the tanking Blackhawks.

Guessing there may be a little EK pucker factor here as well.

Dallas losing 2 out of their last 3 isn’t out of the question, especially with 2 being on the road against teams playing well recently, if that happens and the Wild wins all 3 and they get the #2 seed…

Just saying why not wait until tomorrow’s game when it’s most likely all decided?

This also assumes the plan is for these 4 starters to play tomorrow, IF they already decided they will sit out all 3 remaining games, then yeah, it doesn’t matter..

Don’t necessarily disagree, but getting Rossi as many possible regular season games makes sense to me.

I think the health of the 5 they are resting is more important than home ice.

KK was never playing in the back 2 back regardless.

Like I said there has to be some injury pucker factor as well considering the week they just had since you jinxed them. jester

Ahh didn’t realize the rest of them stayed home

Because what happens if it’s not decided after tonight’s game? Can’t rest players the next game in that case right. Statistically there’s a ~90% chance they finish 3rd and getting those key players as close to 100% is more important than chasing that 10%.

Yeah think there mind was made up earlier with this back to back honestly.
Toss in the injuries last week and a half and it is kind of a no brainer.

I can see that IF they sit the rest of the games, but Deano made it sound like those guys were playing tuesday against the Jets…

They are but they were never playing in the back 2 back. At least KK wasn’t. If any of them have any kind of nagging injury I am fine with not having them play back 2 back right now.

What difference would that make? They are still going to play Dallas.
Home ice isn’t as important as going into the playoffs rested and tuned up.
They rest now, tune up the reserves.
Tune up the rested on the last game.

Rested into the playoffs yes but fine line so they don’t get rusty. Have always liked going into the postseason with some momentum. Agree Rossi should get as much playing time as possible with remaining games

You have a point, but I think there is an advantage if/when it gets to game 7. Game 7’s have a higher winning percentage favoring the home team. It could be a moot point, but being that they are pretty even, I vote for home ice.

Hopefully all the central time zone games don’t start at 9pm otherwise I won’t be seeing them play much (again) this post season.
