Serves me right for following a link to Yahoo sports. Talk about deceiving, I was surprised to see Vegas was 1st, I recall hearing that Tampa was first at one point, but never heard Vegas mentioned.
So I look at this team stats page:
https://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/vegas/
So by “1st” in penalty minutes, what they actually mean is “taking the least”? Makes total sense.

Ha I guess in a “1st is the best” way it does make sense
Vegas fits in well with the other Pacific teams in that they don’t have a goalie. The Pacific is hot this year but every team has goalie problems. For that reason I think any one of them would be a good matchup for the Wild. Total opposite in the Central.
Jack Eichel will play his first career playoff game this year.

Haha yeah I was slightly confused by that stat too.

Is Buffalo in a playoff spot. I guess I could look it up but that Tage Thompson is a load. Edit, not in a playoff spot but lirking.
Buffalo is out but having their best season in a long long time. They beat good teams and lost to bad teams.
Playoffs are 90% locked up only thing left is seeding and the final Wild Card spots – One of FLA/PIT in the east and WPG/CGY in the west
How is the puck hitting Hartman not a penalty? They dodged a huge bullet there!!
Announcers said because he didn’t play it.

Agreed, that was a weird situation but they all clearly saw what happened and had a long conversation so I assume they got the interpretation of the rule correct(??)
Lots of weird/bad calls in that game but I think it mostly evened out. Byram penalty for backchecking, JEEK interference make-up call, Hartman no too-many-men, Spurgeon puck-over-glass. It was a really fast game with a lot happening so you’ll see more missed calls or gray area calls that can go either way.
Lol
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jake Middleton already has a full-time job as a professional hockey player, but we made him an offer that he (and his muzzy) couldn’t refuse. pic.twitter.com/wvRrw6Pxvo

Good lord there’s more…

So JEEK puts his arms up to protect himself and the ref calls him for interference. Did the ref expect JEEK to let the guy bowl him over.
Seeing JEEK reminded me of Eugene the magical Jeep from Popeye. Probably before most of you guys’ time. Maybe Jeep can be JEEK’s mascot.
I come to this site to commiserate, sometimes to share fishing tales, but this is the best part!
Kirill is sitting courtside at the Wolves vs Lakers game tonight… right behind the Wolves bench basket
Big loss by trashville last night and big win by the jets tonight. Don’t count them out yet. Calgary and Canucks late tonight. Yes keeping track even in beach paradise.
If I played in NHL I would play in Florida, Arizona or Vegas just sayin.
The old ESPN Hockey commercials were awesome!

Stars playing the Ava tonight… lets hope its a injury filled game that doesn’t go to overtime…
Great Becoming Wild episode with Flower, great behind the scenes access they showed, those glasses sound like a trip to wear…
I wonder what issue Brodin is dealing with? he’s playing tonight, but it sounded like it was going to be a gametime decision…

That’s was awesome. Normally they are off-season but to do it in season was fantastic.
Well, the lineup decisions just got a little easier with Shaw likely blowing his 4th knee?
Sucks for Shaw. He’s been good this season. Hopefully it’s not another acl but it sure didn’t look good.
If Fleury would stay on his skates half of the shots would hit him in the body and not be going over his shoulder. Put a couple axe handles behind his knees!!!
Don’t think you are changing Flowers HOF style.
Ruthless tonight Joe.
