Gustavsson named the NHL 3rd star of the week. Wild now have 4 “stars of the week” this season and somehow none of them are Kaprizov. Flower, Zuccy, Gus, Gus.
tswobodaPosts: 8723March 27, 2023 at 1:49 pm #2191472Marshall Warren (BC Captain, 2019 Paul Fenton 6th Rounder) entering the transfer portal so safe to assume he’s going back for his 5th NCAA season and Wild will lose his rights. Good chance he wasn’t getting a contract anyway but he’s been on the prospect list for a few years now.
All those prospects they had at Boston College and only signed one of them… definitely picked the right one. Someone needs to ask Boldy why he’s scaring off all his old teammates.

Warren is a fringe AHLer at best, just doesn’t excel at anything, average at everything, undersized…McBain not signing hurt a bit, but at least we got a 2nd round pick back that turned into a more offensively gifted Hunter Haight, Nesterenko would be competing with 1st & 2nd rounders in the Wild prospect pool/AHL in a year or two had he stayed…the timing just didn’t line up for him with the Wild…
tswobodaPosts: 8723March 27, 2023 at 2:36 pm #2191484Yeah none of them move the needle, just thought it was interesting 3 outta 4 end up in the NHL but only one of them actually in the Wild system.
McBain is the 2nd line center for the mighty Coyotes right now. Probably be battling for the Shaw role if still with the Wild. Similar production but slower, 6″ taller, and hits *everything* in sight.
Nesterenko scored for the Ducks this weekend. He’d be way down on the Iowa depth chart if still with the Wild. He needed another year in college to be a free agent though.
tswobodaPosts: 8723March 27, 2023 at 3:26 pm #2191498Danila Yurov (2022 1st, KHL) is the next prospect to watch and sounds like a decision is coming in the next month. His KHL season is over and contract is up May 1 so either he signs an extension there or comes over to Iowa next year. My guess is the Wild want him to play there next year and then come over but his KHL team wants him to sign a 2+ year extension. So he’ll probably sign a 2 year extension in the KHL…

I asked Russo if the Wild were talking to him and he said yes, they are currently discussing his future with him…my guess is they made their pitch for him to come to the States, ultimately its his decision…if I were the Wild, i’d get him the hell out of Russia as fast as I could…maybe a ceetain Russian could shoot him a text….

Sure he has 1 goal in 30 games. But does he look good??
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23391March 27, 2023 at 8:16 pm #2191548Zuccy might quit hockey if Kirill doesnāt come back soon
The dude is so lost out thereā¦
basseyesPosts: 2571March 27, 2023 at 8:35 pm #2191556Dude, Boldy has been amazing lately. Ever since Johansson arrived.

He’s on a heater for sure. Johansson while I thought it was a questionable deal it’s really paid off.
basseyesPosts: 2571March 27, 2023 at 8:56 pm #2191562I like the new shoot first Boldy. Definitely makes it easier when you’ve got someone competent feeding you the puck. I hope he can carry this confidence into the playoffs. We’ll need another big scorer especially if Kirill isn’t 100%
March 27, 2023 at 8:57 pm #2191563BG has made some great moves without giving up anything really.
Not one bad move this season. Even the offseason really.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23391March 27, 2023 at 9:18 pm #2191569Damn! Boyz are buzzing tonight! Keep some in the tank for the next 4 games!
RipjiggenPosts: 11844March 27, 2023 at 10:03 pm #2191576Ekker quietly destroying his previous career high in points this seasonā¦ That 8 year deal looking like highway robbery by GMBGā¦
RipjiggenPosts: 11844March 27, 2023 at 10:06 pm #2191577Only quiet to those that thought he was nothing more than a third line center.
tswobodaPosts: 8723March 28, 2023 at 8:23 am #2191608An how’s about some love for Flower? At the game last night the crowd was chanting his name, it was awesome.
Excellent efficiency by the wild last night. Took them 20 shots to get to 4 goals.
