Don’t disagree but I don’t think switching him at this point in the season would make much sense for his development.

Agree. I was thinking about next year – then also thought of Jojo getting injured again in playoffs, but they have Nyquist for that. I’m trying to skip right past playoffs I guess

so projecting out 1-2 years, they will have made a longterm decision on Gaudreau and ultimately then Hartman, you also likely have Khusnidhinov and hopefully Bankier pushing into the equation within the 2024/2025 season….

I think they will ultimately put Rossi with Kaprizov, I don’t think they will give Hartman anything close to 1C’ish money, especially with his dissappearing act the start of the season…

Just looking to next year on the fit for Rossi.

Speaking of Hartman… he has the most 5v5 points on the team since being moved back to center. 2nd in goals only to Kirill.

He’s been much much better the past 15 games or so…It will be interesting to see what GMBG does with him next year, this season alone we’ve seen both extremes of his game, the good and terrible…

Like Deano would say. “It’s a good problem to have right? If he is on the team he will find a spot right?”

Sorry that’s my best Deano impression.

Its good they are starting to get guys back. Hopefully they can stay healthy but no one is healthy at this stage of the season.

Sounded like “several” players were iffy for tonight…I suspect you’ll see extra players take warmups just in case… I’m happy we get a 6:00pm start time!

Yeah not sure Moose on first line would be my top choice but don’t think they want to mess with that second line at all.

Merril is interesting now that they have a taller not necessarily more physical player on that bottom pair they seem to favor goose a bit in that spot now.

Will be interesting to see what they do with Nyquist if he comes back and they are mostly healthy.

Reavo on his current heater seems like the obvious choice. Guess he kinda turned the 4th line into the 1st line though so maybe not

I still expect to see Merrill start game 1 next to Klingberg. Wonder if they ever try Klingberg with Brodin? Dumba and Goose have made a good pair at times, had a couple terrible games in there too

it’s funny how our 1st line has become our “just throw whomever on it” line…IF & WHEN everyone becomes healthy, Nyqusit/Sunquist/Reaves/Shaw/Duhaime rotate in/out…Nyquist is the tough one to place and I think GMBG got him just to be a top6 injury replacement, he makes ZERO sense on the bottom 6…

    Projected Playoff Lines

    Kaprizov – Hartman – Zuccy
    Boldy – Ek – JoJo
    Nyquist/Duhaime/Sunquist – Gaudreau – Foligno
    Reaves/Sunquist – Dewar – Duhaime/Shaw

    Spurgeon – Middleton
    Brodin – Dumba
    Klingberg – Goligoski
    Merril/Addison/Faber

The way this season has gone, expecting Moose & Brodin to stay healthy in the playoffs is alot to ask, so that depth will be so important… GMBG has put together good injury replacment options if needed…
I think Deono overplays the top 4 D and the 3rd pair only gets about 10 minutes in the playioffs… Klingberg obviously more on the PP…

Speaking of Dumba he has played well of late.

I get Nyquist probably takes Wayne Reavo’s spot I guess I was talking more about where he would actually slot in the lineup.

Not sure they even thought JoJo would be this good on that line. Hence the reason for Nyquist addition.

Obviously if there is an injury in the top six in the playoffs it makes it a no brainer.

    Nyquist Freddie Foligno
    Sund/Duhaime Dewar Shaw/Reavo?

Looks like we were typing at same time.

    Merril/Addison/Faber

I don’t think you’ll see Faber in the playoff lineup. Pretty rare that a college player gets thrust right into the fire for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They often get called up before the regular season ends, but unless your name is Cale Makar you aren’t making an NHL playoff roster without any experience at that level.

Faber would be their 23 person on the roster if all are healthy come playoff time.

At least I think I counted that right.

Walker Rossi Beckman most likely Aces.

I agree I don’t think he will get a chance to play without some major injuries.

Who knows if Nyquist will be ready to play at all.

Yeah, playoff rosters get expanded, for sure Faber will be skating with the main club, him getting into a game would require several injuries…

My guess is GMBG would love to get him some regular season games if the standings allow it… get something out of burning that first year of his ELC deal…

Yeah not sure the standings will allow that as I am guessing they will be playing for something.

What’s going through the locker room? No Spurgeon due to an illness and I heard talk that Johansson might miss tonight with an illness too.

Just some virus that always seems to happen throughout a year just be thankful it’s not mumps.
With Johansson now Boldy sure likes to shoot the puck and I love it.

Every couple of games Duhaime does something that makes you believe he has a whole other level to his game thats being held back due to lineup position and injuries…. It would be nice to see him put a long stretch of games together in a row to see what he can do…

Nice bounce back game from Gus. Shutting down a good Devils team without your top Dman out is awful nice. Just need to finish her off.

Ah poop. Johansson just took one off the hand or arm, and went right off. Played one handed for about 40 seconds after taking that shot.
