    A little more than Fiala…

Calgary did extremely well, again they’ll need to resign them in a year to keep that value or they trade them at the deadline for more picks. The 1st round pick they got is for 2025 so they wont see that player for 5+ years.

Florida won’t have a 1st round draft pick for 4 years in a row!

Well if they don’t make it to the big game in the next three they will be selling off assets. They are in win now mode.

WOW that’s an NBA trade. 100 point superstar for 100 point superstar. Even included a Sign and Trade ?!?! Biggest trade I can remember in the NHL.

Yeah if Calgary can sign just Hubedreau it’s a huge win IMO for them as they had 0 chance at Tkachuck. If they can’t they should get a good haul at the deadline.

That’s the biggest trade I can recall. Man it’s a bold move.

    jester

So is the issue that he doesn’t have his work visa yet and can’t get into states. Sure seams like he has no problem leaving Russia.

I believe so. It seems odd that work visas don’t extend through contracts but I get it.

Does he apply to the US for visa or Russia?
Getting a visa from US shouldn’t be an issue?

I’m pretty sure he needs the US to give him a visa to “work” here. If he is truly out of Russia that has to be a good sign. I’d think he could’ve just said he was vacationing here and that’d suffice too.

The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler just put out his top 50 drafted skating prospects (Forwards and Defenseman) under the age of 23 list. The Wild had 3 in the top 29 (Rossi #16, Yurov #23 and Ohgren #29) Boldy graduated from the prospect pool.

Goalie rankings come out tomorrow, expect Wallstedt to be #1

Of course it’s just one guys opinion (It’s his job to rank prospects) but it’s always nice to see the Wild talked about…My guess is the new Organization rankings that will eventually come out will have the Wild #2 behind the stacked Buffalo system…

Wheeler and Pronman are my two go-to’s for prospect rankings. They are usually not in agreement, but they generally have similar feelings about players and so far they seem to pan out. I was watching some highlight videos of that Ohgren kid after the draft and man can that kid shoot. He’s a deceptive skater too. Doesnt seem to be overly quick, but he sneaks past guys all the time.

Boring day so I was noodling around capfriendly.com and found myself on the Blackhawks page… other than you’re making $9.5 million dollars to play hockey, how would you like to be Seth Jones who’s signed for 8 years in that dreadful dumpster fire organization. He might set the record for most losses for a player in an 8 year span…

Do you think Kadri is waiting for Colorado to figure out a way to trade away Sam Girard and free up enough capspace to resign him to a $8 million aav?

Plus he has a NMC which he would probably waive to move somewhere not in full on rebuild mode. Once Toews and Kane are off the books they are going to have a lot of money to play around with.

Punishing myself by watching game 4 of the Blues series. I forgot we were up 2-1 in the series. All the more frustrating. What a stinker in game 4 we needed that one.

Was game 4 the afternoon one? That was the only game I watched from beginning to end because of the ridiculous start times for most games.

Those are the games that the good/experianced teams step on the throats of their opponents and don’t let up, let’s hope it was a learning experiance for our young core…

Coming as no surprise Wallstedt ranked #1 in Wheeler’s goalie prospect rankings. From what I saw of him during the Development Camp he looked the part. I believe he is planning to play in the WJC coming up in August. That will be fun to watch because Ohgren will be playing on his team as well.

Wallstedt is on the WJC team for sure, Ohgren was just invited to try out but most likely will make the team du eto some vets choosing not to play because it’s so close to training camps, i’m excited to watch the tourney as well, the Wild have important pieces on most of the major teams that will be playing…

Is it too early to have everyone calling him the Great Wall of St Paul? I feel like we should get ahead of the curve here.

I am pretty sure we will see that on a Sotastick T-shirt once he is finally in the NHL.

Been crickets on this page but not surprising because not much is happening at all. Russo tweeted out that Billy G thinks KK should be here before the season starts but doesn’t want to comment on it. Hopefully he can get back here because man it will obviously suck without him.

Side note does anyone listen to the Bardwon Beauties podcast? I see they had Foligno on recently and going to give it a listen.

We’ve entered the 1+ month of absolute downtime for the NHL before camps start get going, we’ll get the unexpected August WJC tourney starting up next week, that will be fun based on how many players the Wild has in it…it was interesting to hear that GMBG is still working the phones trying to get a trade done vs getting somebody in free agency…if Kaprizov can get into Turkey for a vacation, he shouldn’t have any problems getting in to the US when needed…

The Wild have what 9 guys competing in the WJC? Would be more if the Russians could participate. That is an impressive turn around. The last time we had a good number I think was when Dumba, Granlund, etc were in there. I cant remember if Brodin even made Sweden’s team it should have been around the same time.

I think it was 2017 when they didn’t have a lot of guys but every player was a stud. Kaprizov, JEEK, and Kunin were all captains for their country. KK scored like 100 goals in the tournament and I think JEEK and Greenway were both close to the top in points too. Crazy that Ek scored that much considering he had no offensive skill (sorry couldn’t resist).

Compare that to this tournament where I think pretty much every player is mid-level on their team with the exception being the future “Great Wall of St. Paul” (love the name).

Anyone ever catch Da Beauty League at Braemar in August? Looks like they’re going to do it again next month. I went in 2016 a couple times and its pretty good entertainment. A lot of local college and pro players out there. 4 on 4 non-contact style pond hockey. The two times I went in 2016, by far and wide the best player out there was Brock Boeser. He had like twice as many points as the next closest guy in the league. His NHL caliber shot is what separated him from other players when I watched.
