Hate to lose the extra point there, Boldy had it on his stick in OT… then Zuccy gets lazy and it cost them…
Arizona is a completely different team at home though (17-10-3) so you gotta give them some credit for playing hard and fighting back all game….
Missed the end of the game. Heard Foligno was injured. Anyone know anything about that? Missing games?
Yeah it sounds like it could be fairly serious for Foligno but I havent heard anything new today yet. A guy fell on his ankle and then his leg/knee buckled.
really tired of Foligno getting hurt…need to start calling him Buxton…
Russo tweeted out that Guerin said he doesnt think Foligno’s injury is serious. He got kicked and took a blade high on thigh.
We’ve all been saying Marco’s last name wrong the whole time… I did a double-take the other day when I heard his goal call in a highlight for Iowa… glad I saw this story link today:
The pronunciation of Marco Rossi's name has been a hot topic lately, and we know you all have had some questions – especially on social media.
Ben and Joey sat down with Marco for our latest episode of Ridin' the Bus, presented by @exploreminn, that drops tomorrow!#10WAGROWN pic.twitter.com/R6GxyX3AHY

awesome interview (it’s 53 mins long) GMBG recently did with Sportsnet on being a NHL GM… not sure why, but I didn’t realize the team pays for all sticks and equiptment for the players…
at the 42 minute mark it paints a picture of why Addison has been sitting…
Brock Faber – back 2 back Big10 Defensive Player of the Year winner… excited to see what this kid can do at the next level…
Did you think the player paid for their own sticks?
I know Heatley one year went through close to 150 Twigs.
The thought NEVER crossed my mind that a player would play for their equipment. Aside from payroll that is probably the teams largest expense next to travel I guess.

no, I just figured the stick companies just gave them to the players as free advertising or contractually if endorsing…same with equipment that’s visible (gloves, skates) under gear like shoulder/elbow/shin pads are typically kept for a long time as the player gets used to them…majority of NHL players wear shoulder pads from like 20 years ago….
Charging the team just seems silly…I wonder if the equipment managers get kickbacks for pushing certain brands over others?
Sammy Walker practicing on the top line today with Steel on the third line. That could be a nice top line if Walker looks as good as he did first time up.
I can tell you from experience selling stuff like that. The Pro and college teams are some of your biggest clients.
It is definitely not silly making them pay. 1 high school kid may go through 2-3 sticks. 1 pro may go through over 100. Multiple pairs of gloves and skates.
It can kill you as a rep to lose a major team. Very competitive and yes lots of kick backs.
Not every pro on the team is a so called sponsor. There is maybe 1 to 2 of those players per team.
Don’t think to many kids are interested in the brand of stick a guy like Middleton is using but a guy like KK that is the most photoed player on the team. Yeah as a rep you want that guy using your brand.
Listening to today’s new Chicklets cast today and Biz just said that BG is going to be on the podcast soon. That’s going to be a gem.
Anybody else watching the “Big City Greens” Rangers vs Capitals game with their kids right now? ESPN & Disney are simultaneously showing the actual game on ESPN and a cartoon version on Disney channel….
The animation is glitching all over the place but my 6 & 9 year old are LOVING IT….

I turned it on for a second. Kind of entertaining. Pretty funny show too if you’re forced to watch it with the kids.
Yeah, I give the NHL some credit for trying something new, but the technology needs alot of work still… the 2nd Rangers goal glitched the puck all over the screen and then it was suddenly in the net for a goal…
But my kids are totally into it…
Just tuned in my 6 yo thinks it’s hilarious. Gramma Green the goalie.
I think that is a genius move on the NHL. My kid loves hockey but could care less about a rangers caps regular season game.
The parent company of Bally Sports has filed for bankruptcy. Diamond Sports Group missed a $146 million interest payment last month and is over $8 billion in debt.
DSG says it plans to continue to operate. I’m not sure how credible this is in anything but the short term. They are operating at a huge monthly loss.
According to the AP: Diamond owns 19 networks under the Bally Sports banner. Those networks have the rights to 42 professional teams — 14 baseball, 16 NBA and 12 NHL.
Always interesting how these companies have a virtual monopoly on major sports broadcasting in some markets and still can’t make money.

No Billy G was just on last year during winter classic week. Biz was referring to interviewing him on TNT for the game tonight
Biggest takeaway I heard from the GM meetings is that Bettman and the Owners are open to increasing the Salary cap for next season more than the previously stated $1 million, I think if they were willing to say that, then it’s most likely going to happen. Obviously this would be huge news for GMBG who was planning on trying to fit all of the RFA needs we have in the small pool of $ he had available, any increase will make that job easier especially next year when the Wild’s cap pain is the worst…
It didn’t sound like there was much movement on the others issues brought up like changing the playoff seeding format, instigator penalties, goalies knocking off the nets, etc…

Wonder if it would ever be possible the Wild simply wouldn’t be televised for awhile? Or, if there are clauses that would continue operations and transfer to a different network, etc

The playoff seeding format is just dumb and I wish they would change that!

The problem with the argument right now is that the East would essentially be the same if either format was used….so the argumnet has lost some steam right now because it wouldn’t make much difference…I mean the Maple Leafs GM is against changing it because if that fact and you’d think he’d be the loudest for changing it…
Not Wild related (wish it was) but my buddy’s kid signed a 3 year deal with the Blackhawks yesterday for nearly a million each. Happy for him.

Thought I read yesterday that it wasnt all BS regions that were filing bankruptcy. There was a list and BS north wasnt on it.
Diamond Sports owns the home broadcast rights to 14 baseball teams, but sources close to the situation told The Post the money-hemorrhaging company is expected to file for bankruptcy March 17 – days before the season opens on March 30.
Diamond, which operates under the Bally’s name, is expected to use the bankruptcy proceedings to reject the contracts of at least four teams to which it pays more in rights fees than it collects back through cable contracts and ads, two sources close to the situation said.
The teams in the red include the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks, according to one of the sources. Presently, Diamond stands to lose $20 million annually on San Diego.
None of the lists had MN teams on them so hopefully we are good.
