I cant get access to the athletic on mobile anymore. I canceled my subscription and then when I re-upped it no longer works. They reset my password and then I could access it online, but app doesnt work still. Ugh.

The Athletic can definitely be annoying at times with the login stuff. I only have it for Russos articles

Wild signed prospect David Spacek today, this kid could turn into a 5th round steal, he looks like a real solid NHL defenseman prospect…

Riding the Gus bus again tonight. I think that is a good choice. The Wild are rolling right now. I dont know what to expect from Sundquist, dont recall seeing him play ever or know what he brings to the table but he slots in tonight and Steel out.

Sheesh, I just saw that since the lockout season in 2004 only 2 players have scored 124 pts. McDavid has 124 with 17 games left. Holy balls.

Cool article on the Athletic about Sundquist and Foligino. Foligino took out Tom Wilson for him, from a dirty hit in the preseason.

“I’m lining up for the first faceoff, and it’s Foligno next to me,” Sundqvist said in June on the “Cam & Strick” podcast. “So he goes, ‘That’s such a bull—- hit. I’m gonna take him for you. Don’t worry buddy.’

“And the next game against Washington, he fought him right away.”

Foligno acknowledged he’s had a lot of ‘run-ins’ with Wilson, and when the Capitals tough man delivered that kind of hit in a preseason game, it irked the Wild winger. “It was one of those things where you live by the code,” Foligno said. “It’s crossing the line.”

That’s the first time I’ve heard of a player on another team righting a wrong. I thought the code was team to team, not one team removed. Nonetheless, pretty cool on Moose’ part.

    Neat story.

IMO, Gustavsson is MVP of the team 2nd only to Kirill. He’s saved the season multiple times.

Woof. Hartman. Nice sucker punch. I like that he’s trying to send a message to the Flames who are clearly going after KK, but that was a little too obvious.

Nope. Nobody wants to shoot tonight. They need to tell Klingberg to stop worrying about getting everyone else the puck and shoot. New guy syndrome.

Markstrom playing out of his mind tonight. Wild could do a little better at hitting their spots but he’s stoned them all night.

Good thing Reaves is playing. No liberties being taken at all tonight. Would hate to have someone in his spot who can put a puck in a wide open net

I was thinking the same thing. He hasn’t even mixed it up with anybody roughing up our guys. And there’s been plenty of options.

    Got a point.

New guys looked good. Give them a few games and they’ll start adding some points.

Markstrom stood on his head. Boldy had him beat but just couldn’t finish.

    Gus was great.

Seemed like an old wild game. Out play them. Out shoot them. Don’t score. Loose.

To many no look passes to nobody.

    To many passes.

Need to shoot first, ask questions later.

Really good game other than they couldn’t bury yet again. Glad Ek and a few others made it out alive.

That offside wasn’t obvious it was a possession judgement call and gets messy when put in slow-mo and watched a million times.

I hate offside review so much.

In Chicago for work so didn’t see the game. Catching highlights on NHL network and they are talking about how big of a win it is for Calgary.

From what I saw, if you are the wild throw that game in garbage and move on. Not because they played bad, but just a game for wild vs Calgary needs a W right now to even have a chance?

    Did I miss something?

If you didn’t already know the city of Chicago blows.

Sorry if you live or are from here but probably not following the Wild thread anyway, but Chicago as a city is a dump and I am in the nice part.

Agree 100%. My number one complaint about watching a NHL game.

lmao, my brother lives in Lincoln Park (which is one of the nicer parts) and the only time I have been there was when he got married and I was the best man in his wedding. I have no intention of going back either.

Even when the Blackhawks were good, most “hockey” fans really had no idea how the sport even worked or was played. I don’t know if they are selling out the United Center for their games this season, but for a long time they averaged about 6,000 fans/game.

Calgary needed that game BAAAAD. The Wild essentially put a dagger in their playoff hopes with the last win, but this gives them a glimmer of hope. Gus was a stud again and I cannot believe Freddy Shootout didnt score. KK has been in a slump in shootouts lately. Hasnt scored in like the last 4 or so.

I doubt the Hawks are selling out games with how terrible they are. Now that Kane is gone they have little to be excited about not that he was good anymore but they could cling to the memories.

Freddy did score! Only puck that got past Markstrom all night. It looked like he jumped out of the way he was cheating that low glove shot so hard. I guess Spurgeon got one past him too but the NHL hates fun.

We as fans got the ultimate hosing last night. Got an exciting OT GWG taken off the board by a ticky tack off-side review after they blared the fog horn a hundred times. And then we also had to endure yet another boring shootout.
Wild are the only team in double digit shootouts this year sleeping

Take those numbers with a grain of salt, that is probably what is sold ie season tickets, but in attendance is likely not the case. I mean Dallas is half empty most games and they show 17k.
