Did I hear that right? Canucks PK is at 63%?
Its on pace to finish as the worst PK in the history of the NHL. LOL

Ek line was finally generating offensive opportunities with Johansson’s speed being pretty obvious, but unfortunately Boldy would either miss his scoring opportunity or turn the puck over…. At least the line looked promising after only 1 morning practice….
I thought Johansson had a pretty good first game. Definitely looks better than his first go round here. Hopefully he and Boldy find some chemistry as that would be a big boost.
Darren Dreger reporting that teams are calling on Greenway but the return isn’t where it needs to be yet for GMBG…gaurentee you Greenway is getting traded today…

Fixed it for you and will hold you to it

I thought of that too while typing it…My guess is they just don’t want to retain any of his salary and the early offers all required they did…somebody caves in the last 30 minutes of the deadline and he’s gone…his 6’6″ frame will get somebody to bite…
Watch he will go out East. They are loading up and he would fit in quite well out there.
Wonder if they want to see a clean bill of health for Duhaime before moving Greenway.
If they can get out of that salary they need to do it
Well in the post game Evason and BG were pumping Greenway up. I don’t think he’s been that great over the past few games but they were saying they thought he was. Hopefully they move him.
Johansson said in Joe Smith’s postgame article that he was really unhappy with his first stint here and he felt like he was never healthy that entire season. Sounds like he’s motivated to play well this time. Time will tell. I did think that line looked better also. And yeah, Boldy misses the net a ton, and he one timer is brutal on the PP.
Boldy misses the net a ton, and he one timer is brutal on the PP.
The good thing is that those issues are easily correctible in the offseason…he just needs to shoot a million pucks and work with a shooting coach, his mechanics are all over the pace when he shoots a 1 timer…
I think the Wild’s desired spot for Boldy on the PP is below the goal line (like where he played at BC and the WJC) he can pass from that spot and is closer to the net where he works best in tight spaces, he’s not (and never will be) a shooter in the NHL… They just don’t have the right mix of personelle right now for the other spots, so he’s put on the boards…They need a RH skilled player to be on the opposite side, that’s why they don’t currently put Kirill on the boards, otherwise the PK would just overload that side and nullify him… That’s why he currently roams around…
Perfect Wild PP setup would be Ek in the front, Kirill on the boards, Boldy down low, Addison QB and a RH skilled player opposite of Kirill, basically an overloaded umbrella… Washington does it on the reversed side with Backstrom and Ovi…
Probably a dumb question and I feel like I should know this, but do goals in a shootout count toward a player’s total? Example 2 guys score for your team in the shootout win, do they both count?
No they don’t count for players but the NHL stats inexplicably give the team a goal for a shootout win. Like wtf is that about
for those with ESPN+, they are streaming the TSN Trade Deadline show today all day…
Bruce there it is!
He's just the flowering best. https://t.co/xnmupID8UP

Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of. So one of the goals gives the team the win, but the player doesnt get credit for scoring it? Dumb

well, you’d have player performance bonuses being re-written oh and that thing called NHL records that would go completely out the door…
and Freddy Gaudreau would have a shot as a NHL allstar stats wise…

Same could be said about 3v3 overtime. There wasn’t overtime at all until like the mid-80s. Used to be an 80 game schedule then too.
Shootouts are dumb and shouldn’t count for anything, especially important things like standings points.

yep, agreed… first 3 shootout shooters are typcially the same 3 guys everytime too… I’m convinced the NHL will move to only 3-3 OT to decide games in a few years (next CBA maybe?)
There is NOTHING more exciting in hockey than 3-3 OT, maybe the rarely called Penalty Shot is a close 2nd, but keep it unique….

Absolutely. And nothing worse than ending an adrenaline pumping edge of your seat 3v3 OT and going straight to a snooze-fest shootout.
lol, TSN’s mock draft with pingpong balls…Jeff O’Neill is hilarious…Columbus won it, Vancoucer moved upto #2…
I’ll be fine with anything BUT Chicago winning it…
with Brodin’s questionable health, I don’t see how the Wild doesn’t pick up a another Defenseman…Joel Edmundson would be PERFECT this playoffs and NEXT season, just need Montreal to eat money…
The ask for JVR is just a 3rd round pick…just don’t know where he would fit on the Wild?
JVR is out now they already slated that position.
Unless they can get some kind of return in Dumba which sounds like they can’t Edmudson is off the table. Dumba is their D rental. They are at 7 NHL D now with an 8th probably joining before the playoffs.

Holy F Joe that man is cooked. Not saying he didn’t have a role once upon a time but he’s been hammered with injuries and he’s the worst D in the league right now. They better not go anywhere near him.

I think that if there is a penalty called in OT, or just prior to OT, it should be 3 on 2. Not 4 on 3. The more open ice, the better. Quite often it is 4 on 3, but it then goes to 4 on 4 until there’s a whistle.
That’s a little aggressive. 2 Guys on the ice is damn near impossible.

It is a bit aggressive but it would be highly entertaining!
