I bet he gets one. When you account for about 40% of your teams goals thats pretty rare air. He wont finish in the top 5 for sure no doubt about that.
Russo doesn’t count.
CM accounts for 50%

This is pure gold.
No chance KK is in the serious running for the Hart, not when he’s so far behind the other point and goal leaders. I don’t think the voters look much deeper than that, and when there’s someone so clearly ahead of the pack, it’s a no brainer.
Especially when that person is leading the league in BOTH goals and assists.
It’s true that KK would have more points on a better team, maybe A LOT more, but no one votes that way. I would love to see KK play a full season someday, in his prime, with top linemates. Not sure we’ll ever get that though :(.
I think KK is good enough and skilled enough to be considered, but his numbers aren’t there this year. I mean he’s like 44 points behind McDavid, over 60 games. That’s wayyyy to big of a gap to be considered IMO. I don’t know if there’s a ‘chances created’ metric in the NHL, but I’d guess that KK would sit pretty high on that list.
Also, does McDavid actually log majority ice time with Draisaitl? I thought they played together on the PP but both sat on different lines 5v5. Could be wrong there though.

Some seriously sobering truth here.

Been together most of the year 5v5 because Draisaitl has been big time bad without McDavid. Similar to playoffs last year when Draisaitl had to be put with McDavid because he was playing on 1 foot and literally couldn’t move.

GMBG is going to do whatever he can to resolve that in 2 years after the buyout pain is gone and we free up $15 million…That, an 8 year deal and the #1 ranked prospect pool being ready will be the sales pitch given to hopefully make Kirill re-sign…That’s the plan GMBG most likely laid out to Leopold when he proposed the buyouts…
It would be cool if there was an Analytics model that weighed certain stats more heavily than others to paint a clearer picture of what “Most Valuebale to their Team” looked like. Things like Game Winning Goals, OT points, Primary assists, modified +/-, CORSI, etc that lead to more wins vs personal stats…i’m sure some hockey nerd already has one somewhere online…
I like your positivity on the signing Joe.
Why so you can see how much more dominant CM is than KK this year.
Avs get Lars Eller for a 2025 2nd…I wonder if GMBG considered Eller but ultimately chose Johnasson..if that was the case… wtf?

That makes no sense…who dis?
Was replying to both your post since quoting these days are impossible on my phone.
You are more confident in your KK resigning than I am that’s all.
Like I said earlier CM might have the most dominant season since 95-96. It would show in all his stats no matter what nerd came up with them.

Yo that’s called WAR and it’s used in like every sport
I guess I have been sleeping on the Kings. Didnt realize they were tied for first place. Now that looks really bad for trading Quick.

4 points separates 1st from 8th in the West, that’s just crazy and likely the reason GMBG is putting a few more chips in the middle than he originally thought he would be doing this year…If Gus/Flower gets hot, there’s no Western team that scares me into thinking we couldn’t beat them, so you roll the dice a bit and maybe catch fire and make the finals. Then you hope the team that survives the bloodbath in the East has a bunch of thier key players hurt or playing wounded… then who knows in a 7 game series…
I just hope they get out of the first round for a change. I dont know how they match up currently, but I think a first round matchup with the Oilers would be great for the Wild.
Um currently it’s the Av’s.
Knowing the Wild that is probably who they will face first round.
Just looking at points TSW.
Been talked about a bunch but playoff seating in NHL is dumb.
Wild series with Calgary coming up is big. If Wild could somehow win both they almost lock up a playoff spot.
We should go back a few pages and remind ourselves how terrible this team is and they are not making the playoffs after a 3 game skid.
The Avs would be the worst matchup. Equally as bad as having the face the Blues last year.
The West is just a complete gong show. Only team I’m confident about is Colorado and I don’t think anyone else is sleeping on them anymore either.
Wild signed WHL Center prospect Caedan Bankier to his ELC starting next season. Needed to be signed by this spring or they lost his rights and today was the first day they could sign him for next season. No word yet on his Teammate defenseman Kyle Masters who’s in the same situation. The other prospect that needs to be signed this spring is Marshall Warren, defenseman from BC.

sign Masters, let Warren walk
Good lord the amount of players going to the east from the west is kind of unreal.
2 years of Chychryn rumors for that return huh. Seems like they’re taking their best shot at getting a high 1st with all those conditions. But likely they end up with a mid 1st and 2 2nds.
Penguins trying to rekindle the Zucker and Granny magic. They did have 2 very good seasons together about 5 years ago.
and TSN has all day coverage of Deadline Friday…will there even be anybody left to trade for?
And with all those picks they’ll probably get 2 good players for a couple years before trading them for more picks.
That team needs a new owner in the worst way. Absolute joke, and it’s not the market’s fault
Look at what Vancouver paid for Hronek compared to the Chychrun deal…

no arguments there… they’ll likely interview prospects too early and forfeit several of them….
