He tried grabbbing a puck that went off a ref that was bouncing the whole time. Not sure that is the same as Addy.

looked line a bad pinch in the neutral zone, Novak went right around him and then Merrill did his patented roadkill slide into the goalie… I haven’t been able to see a replay though…

and Goligoski had to ruin it….

Its funny that he’s made the same exact mistakes Addy was pulled out for…

    Exactly

    What a final minute!

I don’t care how Hartman scores them as long as he gets going again. Wish they wouldn’t have played prevent defense for the last 6 minutes though. Could’ve been a nice 3-1 win. But it’s still a big win.

Great finish! Can we count 2 in a row as a winning streak?

That final goal was all due to Kirill fighting off 3 Predators behind the net to get the puck out to Spurgeon… if the NHL gave out 3rd assists that would have been a huge one…. I wouldn’t put too much into Hartman scoring in terms of him being back, the rest of his play has remained the same… at least he’s going hard to the net and getting rewarded though… thats his game…

Cole Smith recognition post… Number 36 for Nashville today is #oneofus and I’m guessing no one knows who he is.

Really great kid who was an absolute nobody coming out of high school. Worked his balls off to get in at UND, built a reputation there, and now playing every game in the NHL this year. Just signed a 1-way extension for next year too! Awesome story that he earned through hard work and really couldn’t happen to a better kid.

Funny story, he’s a big boy and had a spirited tilt with Shaw in the AHL a couple years back. Shaw gives up at least 6″ but Cole hammered Boldy open ice and he didn’t hesitate to drop em. Now they’re coaches at the same hockey camp in the summer jester

He comes from an incredibly athletic family. Grandpa, dad, uncles, cousins, they’ve all excelled in sports.

Ive never heard of Cole Smith but its cool to see his hard work paying off. So many kids have all the talent in the world, but arent willing to work hard to get better. This kid gets it apparently.

Brainerd hasn’t exactly been the hockey hot bed of the North. Although, there are two kids in the NHL right now, Cole Smith and Josh Archibald.

There was another kid from Brainerd quite a few years ago that was very good, but never made it. I cannot remember his name, but he was a helluva skater. Defenseman. I watched him in Sauk Rapids once. Id have to say it was in the mid 2000’s.

Carl Sneep – big boy who could handle the puck and skate. He was incredibly gifted, high draft pick, but had some injuries in/after college and never put it together professionally. Played 1 NHL game and got an assist to Geno Malkin jester

Its crazy how many overtime losses the stars have. 12 while Winnipeg has 1. Weird.

I think the new Wild team mantra should be, “Shoot the puck. If at all possible, shoot at Hartman. Only good things can happen.”

Yeah so who is actually the better team? Both have 26 real wins but then Stars are 4-12 in fake hockey and Jets are 8-1 in fake hockey. I think it’s Dallas and I keep waiting for Winnipeg to crash, but it hasn’t happened yet. The entire Western Conference has been pretty bad the last month or so, maybe even all season.

Put a target on his practice jersey. I hope the fans add that mantra to their typical screaming. “SHOOoooooott…. at Hartman”

Trevor Zegras clowning a new shootout move in warmups the other night…glad we got Miami Vice Marner shooting a wrist shot into the goalie’s glove at the All Star Skills Competition instead…

Comments section in the “Wild Week” article on The Athletic are really hammering Russo for ragging on Addison. I like the kid but he’s a disaster in his own zone and from reading the article Russo made it sound like he’s not doing a whole lot to improve it. He quoted Spurgeon saying “He hasn’t really come to me asking for any advice” after saying the coaching staff told Addison to watch what Spurgeon does.

I don’t know if Addison will be worth the resign if he doesn’t improve 5 on 5.

Addison is another example of why not to get too excited about prospects when they are working their way into the NHL. You never know if they are going to cut it regardless of how highly touted they are. I believe more don’t pan out than do. Wallstedt looks to be our best hope but I think we are way to early with The Great Wall Of St. Paul moniker.

Addison could turn out to be a top pair D down the road but that might be five years from now on a different team. Sure the Wild have the #1 ranked prospect pool right now but as the song goes “That don’t impress me much”…

Addy was never predicted to be a top 2 D man. Mostly because of his size but also the defensive side to his game. He was always projected as a middle bottom pair but could run the PP.
With it being his rookie season there have been some good some bad which is what is expected from a rookie.

I agree that prospects are just that possible pro hockey players.
I think they were ranked 1 in large part because of Wallstedt. I too worry about this team when the buyouts are over and KK not wanting to sign.
That’s why I think it is important to be trying to get into the playoffs every chance they can.

I wish the NHL would adapt the point system that the Olympics uses. 3 points for the regulation win, 2 for the OT win and 1 for the OT loss. Too many close games just go to OT because there is no incentive to close it out in regulation.
