So you would rather have slow lumbering do nothing Reeves who can only get worse over a speedy somewhat talented young player with a chance at improving who can kill penalties? Now that’s weird not Wild.

    Uh no…

Coming out of the break and losing to the lowly Coyotes, plenty of blame and finger pointing to go around.

Nobody really talking about Greenway. I know he’s a fan favorite but he’s having a miserable season. Might be time to ship him, tough to fix lazy.

Trouble is Greenway and Dumba are so bad nobody will take them.

Wild have the #1 ranked prospect pool in the NHL according to Scott Wheeler (reporter dedicated to hockey prospects)

Pretty damn impressive for Judd and the boys considering their highest pick was Rossi at #9 when most of the teams ranked in the top 10 had multiple top 5 picks the past 3-4 years…

Now it’s all upto their development…

There is a lot of luck there too. Most projected Rossi to go higher than 9 and no one saw Wallstedt falling to the Wild where he did at 20. Still impressive. Its rare to pick a goalie in round 1, but he was cant miss and 19 teams are kicking themselves right now probably.
I really enjoy Scott’s work. He is a lot like Russo is that he pours tons of time into his stories, but there are all about the youth movement which is fun because Russo doesnt have time to focus on that. Scott and Corey Pronman are my go to’s for prospects.

That last loss is on me. Every every time, but once when I go to watch a road game they lose. I will be getting in touch with the Wild to see if they will pay me to stay home on road trips. I watched Greenway closely and he is just awful. In the D zone he is beyond lazy and at least 2 strides behind his guy. Need to unload him for a puck bag or a few sticks. Since he got hurt this year he cowers away from almost all contact and has become worthless being the few times in the past when he played physical that was the only time his play was affective.

    Same on Scott and Corey!

The thing about the Wild’s prospect pool is the quality & number of guys that didn’t make the top 15. I’m still very bullish on Hunter Haight and Kyle Masters, i’m glad Scott included Reiger Lorenz on his list, this kid is COMPLETELY under the radar, I bet a majority of Wild fans didn’t even know we drafted him in the 2nd round last year. He’s an 18 year old 6’2″ power forward playing on a stacked Denver University team, I expect him to blow up next year similar to how Boldy took time to get used to the college game…

THe only things I think we’re still missing is a RH Sniper/shooter and of course more Center depth with size…

Greenway will not be on the Wild next year (perhaps even the rest of this year) He’s the simplest way to clear up some much needed cap space and they already have internal options to replace him…They won’t have any problems trading a 6’6″ 25 year old forward even with his warts…

I looked at the Wild’s schedule and this month will be do or die, 12 games in 21 days, 9 of those 12 games are at home and 2 of them are against the Blue Jackets. GMBG should know exactly where this team sits by the trade deadline to make a decision on being a Buyer or Seller…

Cool that the Wild are #1 prospect pool, great sign for the future obviously. It’s fun following all the prospects throughout the season too. Judd and the scouting staff must be doing a good job, they seem to win draft day every year and keep climbing these rankings.

That said, I’m holding further praise until one of the Guerin/Bracket draft picks actually scores an NHL goal. Yeah they aren’t getting top 5 picks every year but they’ve had 5 first round picks and 5 second round picks. Need some of that elite drafting to translate to the NHL club at some point.

Last note: The Micheletti’s might riot with Brock Faber not making the #1 tier of Wheeler’s list jester

I dont think Faber not making top tier is really a knock on him. His offensive game has really only come together this year. If he had a couple years of that under him he likely would have been. Nothing wrong with a second pairing D projection since thats essentially who he will be replacing. Imagine Faber and Brodin together? Just filthy skating freaks!

Haha that was just a shot at Pat Micheletti. I’m pretty sure he thinks Faber is the best prospect in all of hockey right now. And last weekend he was proposing a trade of Rossi for Patrick Kane straight up – said that would be a steal for the Wild jester

I do follow Micheletti but I missed all this Faber praise. The Rossi for Kane trade is ludicrous. Why would you give up a potential top 6 center for a rental? Makes no sense at all.

Loves him. Best player in college hockey. Thinks the Wild need to make room for him to step right into the top 4 D after the frozen four.

100%, he’s been in love with him for years after he spent time with him and his billet family.

Except no one outside Minnesota knows who Brock Faber is. Rossi was at least a top 10 pick.

Brock’s not flashy enough to get on any highlights or non Gopher fan’s radar, but the kid is about as rock solid a defender as you’ll find and his elite skating ability will allow him to hang with the better skating forwards in the NHL (ala Brodin)

Kings probably didn’t want to give him up, as they are more forward heavy in their prospect pool, but you gotta give talent, to get talent..Of course we’d love to still have Fiala, but as we’ve discussed before, from a cap standpoint, it wasn’t going to work long term. I think GMBG and staff did well to get Faber and ultimatley Ohgren for a Fiala that wasn’t going to sign with us anyways…

I’m not hating on Brock Faber. Just if you listen to Micheletti talk about him, you’d swear he’s going to be the next Cale Makar this spring.

Come on Joe! Kings are loaded with RHD and RHD prospects. 3 of their top 4 D are right shot and then they have Brandt Clarke at #1 in the prospect pool. Faber was probably their easiest asset to give up. And none of the takes away from Faber as a player, just saying there really wasn’t room for him in LA.

    I get your pointe.

I doubt many outside MN know about Rossi either. It’s not like he has been showing the world his skills in Des Moines Iowa.

Rossi was a superstar in Ottawa so anyone following the OHL knows about him. I think Rossi is pretty well known around the league. Unfortunately he’s more known for being the myocarditis kid and than for his play.

Faber has no exposure outside of Minnesota… he’s from MN, plays college in MN, and now his NHL team is in MN. He was a pretty obscure prospect his couple years in the LA system.

It was a bit of sarcasm but I agree. Although not many people follow the OHL outside of Canada. They also probably don’t refer or remember too many players that were super stars 3 years ago as there are new ones each year, and the next McDavid just around the corner. Cough cough Bedard.

Agree on Faber. 2nd to in d pick. Also projected to be a second pair D. I bet most can’t tell you a D men that are not 1-2 on a team.

Did you hear what Pat said when Falness asked him if he’d trade Rossi for Kane on the Beyond the Pond show last weekend???

He said in a second! I almost fell off my chair. I thought Falness was going to cancel the show.

Faber NEVER played High School. He was in the National scene outside of Minnesota, which given where he was, is BIGGER than Mn High School as hard as that is to admit. USNTDP/U17/U18 National teams. Playing the best competition in the world as an under ager.

He was and is, a Very well known entity. He Literally played NO hockey in M Minnesota from the age of 15 on until U of MN. For Sure NOT obscure.

So how many mid 2nd rounders from The Program can you name that aren’t Brock Faber? There’s a couple house hold names from the USNTDP in every draft class, and he wasn’t one of them. Micheletti and a lot of other fans have a completely different view on Faber because he’s #oneofus. It’s the same as fans wanting a Brock Boeser trade.
