Bjugstad to the Yotes. I know some people like him but I’m glad to see him go.

Wild fans upset that Fiala left. Calgary fans have to be losing their minds having Johnny leave for nothing in return.
That’s all on Calgary management though…Johnny Hockey earned his Free Agent status, Calgary Management should have known Johnny wanted to hit FA so they should have dealt him as soon as possible to get something in return (and allow Johnny to get the 8th year)…UNLESS Johnny didn’t make his mind up until last night (but I find that impossible to believe)
July 13, 2022 at 12:22 pm #2135009$8.5 x 8 extension for Sergachev in Tampa…. that $6 x 7 Brodin deal looks better and better every day….
DAMN
Brisbios checking some boxes in Tampa!
Cerelli 8 x $6.25
Cernak 8 x $5.2The Sergachev deal aav boggles the mind…the other 2 are good deals…
Ek’s deal looks good compared to what Cerelli got…will be interesting to see how their offensive production compares over the years…

Right! That is why it was so important to get something for him. It would have been Gaborik all over again.
July 13, 2022 at 12:53 pm #2135018I certainly didn’t think Cam was winning us the cup. I didn’t think Fleury coming in would get the job done either. With both of them we had a slightly above average goaltending. Our goaltending was an issue all year and clearly the biggest issue heading into the playoffs. It is still going to be an issue. It isn’t going to matter because this is not a cup contender for another two years or so hopefully.
The extra cap space definitely helps a bit.

That seems like a pretty good deal to me. Question is will he be healthy. If history says anything he wont be.
tswobodaPosts: 8540July 13, 2022 at 1:18 pm #2135025Sergachev 8×8.5 and Mason Marchment 4×4.5 are the two deals that made my jaw drop so far. Still a few big fish to land though. Crazy to see Burns traded to Carolina!
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22841July 13, 2022 at 1:20 pm #2135026Yeah its increasingly looking that Gaudreau is going to NJ. I dont think Fletcher is going to be able to make room in Philly. Man the Philly fans are irate with all the picks and prospects he has given up. Doesnt that sound familiar?

Fletcher has more important players to sign, like D-Lo
tswobodaPosts: 8540July 13, 2022 at 1:32 pm #2135033LOL Fletcher actually did the D-Lo deal. Add that contract to my list of jaw-dropping deals from today. I kept hearing chatter he would get paid but didn’t actually believe it.
…all because he got beat up by Nick Seeler
July 13, 2022 at 1:34 pm #2135036this is exactly why you don’t want to build your team via free agency…unreal the amount of overpays today….
That 3rd round 2023 draft pick loss will hurt….
July 13, 2022 at 1:35 pm #2135038Why would David Perron want to go to Detroit? I never understood why teams let him go, the dude is a clutch goal scorer…

After 2 years of generally good decisions by GMs due to covid flat cap… free agent frenzy is officially back.
Erik Gudbrandson 4×4 LOL

tswobodaPosts: 8540July 13, 2022 at 1:54 pm #2135044^^ No chance he survives the playoffs
I guess we’ll have to wait and see if his projected late developing bone growth actually happens…

T is just here to watch the world burn at this point.
tswobodaPosts: 8540July 13, 2022 at 2:14 pm #2135053Real talk though Sammy Girard could be on the trade block with the Manson deal announced today. They were already shopping him after his poor 2021 playoffs. Maybe he doesn’t get moved until after this season when Byram comes off his ELC.

Yeah, but I wonder about this recovery from that injury. Wasnt it a broken sternum?
July 13, 2022 at 2:55 pm #2135068Why give Nic Petan that big of an AHL contract?
It’s just Leopold’s money, just curious why this guy gets it as it’s so rare…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22841tswobodaPosts: 8540July 13, 2022 at 2:59 pm #2135073Yeah, but I wonder about this recovery from that injury. Wasnt it a broken sternum?
Yeah, same as Parise. Don’t think there’s long term risk with it. He did a flip or a cartwheel or something during their cup parade so he must be fine lol
Why give Nic Petan that big of an AHL contract?
Why not? Iowa will be thin up front
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22841July 13, 2022 at 3:04 pm #2135074He did a flip or a cartwheel or something during their cup parade so he must be fine lol
Holy! Yeah, I guess he might be OK, but a little liquid courage can make you feel no pain for sure.

Wallstedt is going to be tested this year isnt he? I havent really paid attention to much going on there recently, but it seems a bunch of guys were allowed to move on like Rau.
July 13, 2022 at 5:12 pm #2135114wow, Vegas gets rid of Max Pacioretty for just a salary dump, “future considerations” ie nothing in return…
July 13, 2022 at 7:24 pm #2135134Woah, Gaudreau to the Blue Jackets!
not sure anybody had that on their bingo card????
July 13, 2022 at 7:28 pm #2135135I wonder what Carolina does with Martin Necas now that they only have $4 in capspace??? Gotta think his bridge deal is more than $4aav??
