Somehow I feel all the Dumba haters myself included are going to be disappointed in the return value.

my thinking is if its not, then why even do a trade in the 1st place?

This is also the first season Wallstedt has played on NHL size sheet. That typically is a hard adjustment for goalies.

He’s going to be gone for nothing after the season anyway so a bag of pucks is something better than nothing.

It then gets into how to replace him for the rest of the season and playoff run, don’t think they can rely on Goose playing 40 games and if they get 1 defenseman injury, they are screwed…The talk is that GMBG wants an NHL defenseman back in a trade, so then why even trade Dumba then? Only thing that makes sense is the defenseman we would get back is super cheap and has 1 year of term left which would solve the extra vet defenseman need for next year…

Yeah I dont think it makes sense to trade him now either. Deadline it could make sense if they take a rental in return. He’s out tonight because of performance not due to trade speculation based on what I read.

it appears Shaw is in the pressbox yet again, I guess Deano and staff don’t think he’s as important as everyone else does?

Nope they must like Reaves 8 minutes of skating in circles. Not sure why they don’t just rotate some guys in the bottom six for if nothing else than rest.
Don’t see how sitting guys that long do anybody any good. Including goose.

Haters can say what they want about Dumba but the wild doesn’t have a replacement for him at the moment.

Right which is exactly why they wont trade him until they have one IE Faber.

I would think tonights game against a fast and skilled team would be the exact reason to sit Reaves for a faster & quicker player like Shaw… perhaps he’s hurt?

They likely won’t get Faber until a month or so AFTER the trade deadline…Goose could maybe fill that gap, but that’s asking alot…

Faber was put on the list of Hobey Baker candidates today….

Frozen Four isn’t until April 6th. NHL season ends April 13th sooo…

Yeah well that is if the Gophers make it that far. They got a shot, but I wouldnt be shocked if they got bounced early.

Motzko’s teams usually do not fair well in the NCAAs. We’ve seen this before. Maybe if they can avoid playing Mankato this time around.

They are listed as #1 in the pairwise rankings though, so right now they would have the “easiest” path to the Frozen Four on paper.

I think it would take a 2023 3rd round pick or better (if there’s somehow a bidding war between 2 teams) for them to deal Dumba…I also don’t think that’s likely to happen so they probably won’t trade him… I think GMBG has hinted at this by him saying they would need to receive a NHL defenseman in return if they traded him, that just doesn’t make any sense…

THe only trades I can see them make by the deadline are for a 1st line Center &/or scoring Winger for Boldy and both would be pure rentals…

I don’t see GMBG wanting to give up this years 1st round pick for anybody other than if the Wild makes the Western Conferance Finals the 2nd rounder turns into a 1st, similar to what they paid for Flower last year…

Well they made it last year. Just sayin.

Either way Faber wouldn’t come until after the trade deadline and possible he may barely get a game or 2 to get his feet wet.

The regional tournament don’t start till March 24th and the Gophs will be there.

He’ll get plenty of games in the playoffs whistling

If the Gophers made the National Championship he could still get 3 games in before the NHL playoffs…if the Gophers DON’T make the Frozen 4, he could get 8 or 9 Wild games in…

I do like the positive vibe of a guy to step right into the playoffs and play top 4 minutes and PK and not skip a beat for a guy that isn’t even signed yet. yay

Ha! Skating in circles. Good call. At least it’s not been a straight line to the penalty box.

He would have to be around around the puck to get a penalty. moon
    Well maybe not I guess.

Dumba/ for L. Schenn ($800k). He is big and mean, +5 on a BAD defensive team. Gives Wild flexibility to take Reaves out any night and put Shaw in because Schenn fills the physical threat gap. Will punish you in the corner. Opens a lot for either 25 or 46 in our zone.

Could toss Greenway in and also get Boeser as an option.

I’ve heard the Luke Schenn stuff to. Also the Chycrun name continues to pop up. Russo says no interest in Chycrun but it could be a head fake by BG. If they are actually sitting Dumba because of performance then BG is a master at negotiating values down. I haven’t seen Dumba being nothing but Dumba lately and they’ve never sat him before for doing Dumba things.

Yeah, but he had one of the most egregious mistakes last game that Deano almost cut him in half with his eyes.

The 1st goal was more on Zuccy being lazy and trying to use the Force on the defender (per the replay) vs skating with him or at least communicating with Dumba before letting him go…i’m sure he told Dumba it was his guy afterwards… the high flip that turned into a breakaway was a grenade in his feet, cant really fault him too much. Trust me i’m a big Dumba critic, but those 2 plays mentioned werent faulty from his end…If their intention is to trade him there’s no chance in hell they would sit him for “bad play”

    That’s just a smokescreen excuse imo…

you watch, Schenn is going to cost alot to get, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a 1st… Vancouver is rebuilding and in cap hell, they want draft picks, not players with caphits…

There’s a whole film reel you could make of Dumba doing worse things than losing that puck in his skates against the Caps. Besides we still won the game. Something else is afoot or at least I hope so because otherwise this is just a silly move by Evason or BG whoever made the call. I was pushing for Chycrun last year and I think he would be great on this Wild team. Talk about a guy who would benefit from a change of scenery it would have to be him.
