I hope they win but guess i will be tired for 2 more weeks cause im guessing all the AV’s games would be late stupid starts.

I believe if the Wild win they’ll play at 7 on NBC.

Brodin out hurts, and it looks bad. Shoulder/collar bone based on how he went into the boards.

Very nice. Nice to see him playing hard.

    They’re taking a beating.

Reaves is a liability for Vegas, glad he’s in the lineup tonight. Shoulda been a major against Suter, that was a trash play.

Great series, Wild showed alot of heart coming back from 1-3. This team will be alot better next year and that’s exciting!

Wild were in it but defense injuries derailed everything after it was 2-2 (Suter appeared to be playing with a mild concussion) it totally effected him the rest of the game, Brodin likely separated his shoulder (hopefully not a collar bone or rotator cuff issue)

I think the Avs beat the Knights in 5

Typical playoff hockey. The refs swallow their whistles. It goes both ways, too. The hit on Brodin should have been a penalty. Dumba’s crosscheck on the guys hip towards the end should have been a penalty. The Wild were totally outplayed. It’s weird how it can change from game to game. Still a good season for the Wild and they were fun to watch. They are headed in the right direction.

That’s my one beef with playoff hockey and it always has been. Penalties just don’t get called. I get putting your whistles away for the ticky tack holds and grabs and hooks, but for those giant cross checks on potential rebounds and scoring chances in front of the net, the swings Marchassault took at Greenway, the Reeves shot on Suter, and the high stick on Bjugstad that turned his nose into a faucet, they have to be called. That’s why the bigger physical teams do so much better in the playoffs.

It was a rough ending to an otherwise very positive year. They showed they are a very good team only missing some skill in the middle which was evident from day one, but really got exposed in the post season. I’m really excited to see what this team looks like with Boldy and Rossi in the lineup next year.

PS, I would take Grandlund over any of our centers right now. Imagine his passing with Fiala?

The wild took a better hockey team with home ice to 7 games.

Good luck vgk, hope the av’s get the brooms out.

It was a good series for the youngsters. The fact you guys took them to 7 games was pretty impressive. The future looks bright for the wild finally. Not stuck in a rut.

Sounds like Brodin has a normal separated shoulder and doesn’t need any surgery, should be fine by training camp in the fall…

I moved to Tampa in 2018. At that point it made sense to jump ship.

Did he sacrifice Lehner to give Fleury some rest? I don’t know why you sit him.

Not smart to sit fleury but I can assure you it would not have changed the outcome. Colorado is the best team in Hockey.

The Leafs with all their massive contracts cannot muster a win in 3 games to get past the Habs. There has to be some major changes there this offseason. Campbell blaming himself, that is BS. He is the only reason they were in any of those games. He was playing great.
So its the Jets/Habs to determine who plays Colorado (most likely). Good luck with that one.

I was wondering if there was any official announcement on the conference finals “alignment” yet.

I agree, the Leafs are easily the better team on paper.

I dont know if that is official, but I was reading that info after last night’s game 7. I believe its because the Avs are the top overall seed (#2 is Vegas) and the Habs/Jets would be the lowest.

    That does make some sense.

Obviously the Avalanche look pretty unstoppable at this point but is there any team in the east that can beat them in the finals? Boston or Tampa perhaps?

Tampa I think would be the odds on favorite, but it will be fun to watch these matchups. Price is playing about as well as he ever has.

My lord to be a Maple Leafs fan…would a healthy Tavares made a difference in the final 3 games of the series? What will the Leafs wonderkin GM do this offseason (if he even keeps his job)

at least they got their money’s worth out of Nylander this regular season and playoffs…but $22 million tied up in Marner and Mathews and they don’t produce in the playoffs…ouch!

I think I read that Carey Price is the FIRST player with a $10+ caphit hit to make the 2nd round in NHL history…kind of interesting…

Just heard Nino is out for the series against Tampa. Injured in practice….ouch. Anybody else watching Mike Reilly a lot in the Boston games. Man that kid can skate and move the puck…..Wonder if his defensive game has come around at all.

if Tampa keeps steamrolling teams like they are and wins another cup, I bet their salary cap games come under major scrutiny again and we see a rule change in the next collective bargaining negotiation.

a Tampa vs Colorado final would be entertaining that’s for sure…

quick bonus- if Tampa beats the Canes I think that’s improves the Wild’s Penguins 1st round pick, so GO BOLTS!

Wow he blowed that guy up.
Honestly it was not a charge. He stops his stride well before hitting him. Looks like he kept his elbow down but can’t say for sure in real speed. Hit to a defenseless player. I mean the guy was trying to score. Hit to the head yes but also kind of no where else to hit him on that play. Unnecessary and dangerous. Yes. Will the injury impact the decision on a suspension. Definitely.

What would make the biggest difference would be if Marner and Mathews wouldlearn how to play playoff hockey.

Had they listened to Babcock they probably would be in a differant discusion.

Although I don’t think Scheiffle has any previous suspension history (this should reduce whatever suspension he gets) it will be interesting to see how a star player is treated by the PlayerSafety Committee vs an average player or goon. Fiala got 2or3 games for his bad checking from behind hit right?

I realize they are up 2-0 on the Canes, but Carolina has been the better team in both games. The only reason Tampa is up in the series is because of their goalie.

I think at this point that the Tampa-Colorado Stanley Cup Final is the most likely. And quite honestly, I don’t even think the Bolts can keep up with the Avalanche in a 7 game series. Colorado finally got outplayed (slightly) last night for the first time this post season and they still won.

Honestly it was not a charge. He stops his stride well before hitting him.

It used to be the case that charging by definition had “X” number of strides taken before the hit, but that is no longer the case. Its distance traveled and by this definition it certainly is charging among other things.
Needless hit, his first responsibility is to stop the scoring chance. What better way to do that than you use your stick to poke check it. He had ample opportunity to attempt that but didnt even try. He was frustrated because of calls against him and no calls the other way and that led to this mindset. He was visibly agitated for about 5 minutes before this happened.
“Rule 42 of the NHL rulebook dictates that charging “shall mean the actions of a player or goalkeeper who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner.”
