We appreciate your sacrifice for the greater good.

VGK controlled the game, but couldn’t score. That’s been their playoff MO for the last couple years, so hopefully it’s messing with their heads.

Remember, they also went up 3-1 to San Jose in 2019 then lost the series.

Here’s to hoping for a BS 5 minute major call in game 6 toast

Now the interesting thing is the lack of supporting depth around them. You can argue McDavid’s caphit hurts the team a bit as he’s paid anywhere from $2-$4 million more than the star player on any team not named the Maple Leafs, so that replaces one good 2nd/3rd line winger you could have with instead a rookie or vet on a minimum contract. That’s hardly a substantial loss though vs what McDavid produces…I think it’s more to do with bad drafting (all those years of taking offense with their top pick neglecting the defense) questionable FA signings and never investing in a good goalie…with the speed McDavid plays at he’s always in a vulnerable position and he’s already had an experimental knee surgery under his belt, at some point he’s going to get fed up in Edmonton, in 5 years it will be a bidding war to sell him on your franchises chances of winning a cup.

Edmonton’s issues are perfect exemplified by Darnelle Nurse taking a 5 minute shift in overtime last night. He wasn’t caught out there on icings and D-zone time, there were whistles and he had chances to change. They just have ZERO. DEPTH. They have 2 superstars, a good forward, a good D, and a powerplay specialist. The other 15 guys are garbage. The superstar powerplay carries them to the playoffs where refs put the whistle away and then it’s season over.

How about Granlund to Kunin X2 to even the series last night. Is Granlund playing center full time in Nashville? Seems like every recently former Wild player is in the playoffs this year.

I agree, they lack depth. More than half their offense goes through McDavid, Draisatl, and Nugent-Hopkins. The rest of their lineup is pretty slim pickings.

Wouldn’t that be something. Did we even get a PP last night?

Rewatching the game, man that puck wasn’t on Kaprizov’s stick for a millisecond before it was sniped top corner! No stick handle, no taking a peak or time wasted..

Thats the difference between an elite goal scorer and a normal player..

Fer sure. Gotta give kudos to Zuccy on that goal too. He went end to end, made like 4 guys miss, and threaded that pass through almost no passing lane right onto Kaprizov’s tape.

I actually expect Parise to play well tonight (whatever that means from the 4th line) he’ll want to prove to everyone that Dean and GMBG were wrong…

Agree. He should have a major chip on his shoulder. I would.

I see he is wearing the A. Any idea what that means or what to read into it if anything?

he’s had the alternate captain “A” ever since he’s been here )

I knew that but thought someone else was wearing it by now. Not exactly sure how that works! Thanks

Boldy on the ice in morning skate…

I’m guessing he’s an emergency backup if somebody who got hurt last game decides they can’t play after warmups tonight…otherwise they would have started him last game….

Looks like they moved the early game (Islander-Pens) up half an hour to start at 5:30pm. Still not adequate in my book though as central time games should be starting at 7 or 7:30pm, not 8. Central time zone teams get the shaft on late start times every year.

They’re not starting the Carolina-Nashville game until after 8:30pm tomorrow because the Montreal-Toronto game is on NBCSN first. What a joke. Nashville is in the eastern time zone so that is a 9:30pm local start and it probably won’t get going until about 9:45pm!

gotta sell the sport to pay the bills…make 1 market wait 30-60 minutes to potentially get hundreds of other markets to watch the advertising, Dolla Dolla Bill….

Ya, I understand why they do it. I just don’t like it lol

East coast bias is what it really is. CNBC has had games on TV recently too, put it on that channel.

Been reading some say that Foligno may have gotten injured in the 3rd period. Russo said he left the bench for a while. Anyone remember seeing anything like that? I don’t recall anything.

When asked if he was nervous about putting a Rookie in for his first NHL game in the playoffs Evason replied: “I’m never nervous. I don’t have to go out there anymore, what do I have to be nervous about?

At the end of the day, it’s hockey.”

I just watched the game replay and Foligno was on the ice in the final minutes skating hard, so who knows?

We really need Fiala to play well tonight, not just to score goals, but to create opportunities and be noticeable…We can’t go an entire series with him being a non-factor…

Sounds line he’s skating in warmups and will only play if Foligno can’t…

Best case scenario for the Wild getting the Penguins 1st round pick after Penguins had the #1 seed, should be the 22nd or 23rd overall pick

It will be nice next year when a Kaprizov pass sends somebody not named Rask in on a breakaway…

Martinez gets an extra 2 and 10 on that fight every single time in the regular season. Doesn’t hurt much since the PP sucks anyway, but it’s kind of a joke how the refs refuse to call penalties in the playoffs.

Rask and Hartman should be swapped for the 3rd, neither line has much chemistry right now.

Bjugstadt looks disinterested… Chips, flips, or ices the puck every time it gets near him.
