I was more talking to to Gim and more so the overall playoffs. More fans won’t happen till second round I believe.
I will yell extra loud game 3 so it will sound like 4 more fans.

Listened to Russo’s straight from the source podcast with BG. Doesnt sound good for fans of Mennell of a return. Pretty vague, but no talks in months and BG said he didnt know what that was going to play out. We could certainly use him, but I think a contract needs to be inked soon or he can go anywhere.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Wild handle what is sure to be a physical series. Last time they had a physical playoff matchup they got absolutely embarrassed by the Jets both physically and on the scoreboard.

Obviously the team is way different now and should have no problem holding their own against the biggest team in the league. GREEF line was born for playoff hockey.

Anyone have the scoop on Kaprizov’s performance bonuses and if that will push the Wild over the cap for this season?

Saw some articles on it today, and at first glance it looks like they are over by a few thousand dollars. No idea if that’s accurate though.

There are going to be some great first round matchups.

The one that kinda has my interest to be honest is the battle of Florida! The Panthers vs the Champs. I didn’t think the Panthers were nearly that good (or Carolina). They played each other in the last game of the season with home ice on the line and it wasn’t even close. The Panthers hammered them in that game. I think the Blackhawks made a mistake when they fired Joe Quennville.

I saw it on Cap Friendly but it doesnt look right. Shows cap hit 925k, max bonus 925k and signing bonus of 92.5k.

Listening to Russo on way up to lake on KFAN sounds like the Parise situation is pretty messy behind the scenes. Pretty sure they will be paying him to play elsewhere next year. Was basically asked to keep out of the media and they will do whatever they can to move him.

He didn’t mention any cap issues with the incentives and he was on for almost an hour.

I wasn’t able to listen, on the podcast with BG he really didnt want to say anything about it, but did say that he has been professional about everything.
You thinking straight up buyout or some trade with salary retained? Personally I think I prefer a buyout because then they are off the hook if he retires early. Yeah, you have a few extra years of around 900k in dead money, but hopefully by then the Cap goes up.

He made it sound like more of a trade scenario, but I guess that remains to be seen.
Too me it is to bad it has gotten to this point as I’m sure both sides would have liked to see a different outcome. That and the fact I think he could still be in the lineup skill wise over a player or two.
He has been a good player for this franchise and people can say that they never won anything with him but he has been a good player for them.

Parise and Suter signings instantly made the wild relevant. I agree it sucks it’s come to this I just hope it gets handled swiftly because I don’t think either side wants this to go into next season.

Sad ZP couldn’t of retired in mn, but not surprised. There’s a shiny, fast, new car in the driveway and everyone has pretty much forgotten about the old one. It happened so fast. He went from hero, to, oh yeah, ZP is still on the team, almost forgot about him. Gotta be a punch to the pride man berries.

Pray that Suter’s game doesn’t fall off the same cliff Parise did otherwise we’re double-screwed…

Or Zuccarello…Defensemen tend to be able to play longer. Don’t need as much speed. If Suter is a step slower is anyone even going to notice. lol

I think Kaprizov can keep Zuc relevant until his contract is up, especially if that line can get a center with some speed…

I hope so but I also didn’t expect ZP to go from leading goal scorer to healthy scratch to start the playoffs the following year.

I hope that because Zuc’s game never depended on speed that he stays impactful, Parise’s game relied on his tenacity and drive to outwork his opponent, as he lost that this season, his game has gone down the tubes…

If you go back and rewatch early games this season, he lost most board battles, would get easily moved from the crease and was always the last guy on the back-check, I think I was routinely harping about it in this thread early on….

It’s going to be a good series. I thought last year the Panthers were going to do better.

I wouldn’t take the final 2 games seriously. Both teams had depleted lineups.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Panthers go up 2-0 or 2-1. It’s going to take time for McDonough, Kuch and Stammer to get back up to speed.

I just hope we come out flying and aggressive. So many times this franchise doesn’t show up for game one and gets behind the eight ball from the beginning.

I don’t care who gets it as long as it’s us. I’m so tired of MN teams not showing up in big situations. Let’s hope they do it! They’ve played a great game so far. Should’ve ended at 3-0 if not for Fleury.

Its about damn time a Wild goalie steals a playoff win vs the other way around! Vegas has to start having the voices in their head that they just cant beat the Wild…
