The TNT halftime show is the only reason why I would watch the NBA. Shaq and Barkley are freaking hilarious. I bet they get both of them to chime in on a Hockey take.

I love Bucci and how he loves hockey but is terrible at announcing. I’m sure he will be leading some show on the ESPN with the NHL.

Yes, he is so good for the college game because without him ESPN wouldnt even talk about it. I get they reward him by letting him do PxP but he is just not really good. At a desk, he is fine.

I haven’t heard anything about charging extra to watch NHL games on ESPN? if that’s the case, that’s a HUGE negative in my opinion! That’s one thing I hated about NBCSN, on most cable carriers, it required a special pricing tier to get that channel vs ESPN 1&2 on the normal/basic tier…

I have read they will be streaming on HBO Max and ESPN+ apparently. I don’t however know if that is in addition to regular cable offerings or in replacement of ESPN, TNT, etc.

Did you guys see Joe Thornton going after Ehlers the other night? What was that about? I’ve never seen someone so pissed off at a guy. Haven’t been able to find what Ehlers did to make him so mad.

*Edit* Apparently it was a slash. Man, I guess don’t go around slashing Thornton.

There’s a great article today about Marco Rossi’s Myocarditis battle by Russo in The Athletic

Scary story but the kid is absolutely determined to come out of this stronger and be ready by training camp!

Hopefully they come out with some fire after a few days off. St Louis is only 1 point clear of Arizona, and definitely come ready to play after taking 2 out of 3 against the Avalanche.

I think St Louis is better than their record shows. They will claim the 4th spot in the division for the playoffs.

They had and still have some key injuries. Sounds like Parayko may be out tonight.
The Wild are sneakily in contention to move up the ladder in the division and perhaps get the top spot. 7 home games in a row, 5 against the Blues, 2 against Vegas in their remaining 9 games. 1 pt behind Avs right now, and 5 behind Vegas.
    We’re comin’!

Better playoff matchup: Vegas or Colorado?

Lots of KK talk by the national guys before the game tonight. Sure is fun to have a guy people want to talk about. Hopefully he gives everybody a show tonight.

Vegas 100%. We have had their number since they came into the league and it hasn’t stopped this season. Much better match up for us. Don’t have to play at 100% octane level to keep up with Vegas like you do with the Avs.

People aren’t going to sleep on the Ekk, Foligno, Greenway line after tonight.

100# I’d say Vegas unless we have home ice advantage then it might be a roll of the dice with Avs.

Has that playoff feel to it.

Who does Foligno fight to complete the Gordie?

I’ll put my money on that Blais kid. He’s been throwing his weight around tonight on some of our skill guys.

That’s EXACTLY what a top shutdown 3rd line center is supposed to do!

I wouldn’t mind him running over Binnington! The dude thinks he’s some tough guy…

What a meltdown. Blown leads of 2-0 and 3-1, plus lose in regulation, on national TV.

Imo that’s actually a good stinging loss that should pi$$ off/motivate the players for the remaining 9 games…Here’s their chance to put Rask in the press box for good…

Not much jump from either of the top 2 lines other than KK, and nobody in the third period.

Boy…. not sure how that one got away. Seemed they were in total control for most the game. That 2nd period was fun to watch. But the 3rd, not so much

Reported that Wild are in contract talks and provided an offer to Kaprizov’s agent. Could be max 8 years and potentially over $8M. I don’t hate that because we really need to lock him up and I dont want him on a short deal walking him to UFA soon.

Lock him up for the max and then we don’t need to worry about it for 8 years, the kid is the best this org has ever had…He’s the cornerstone, build everything around him…
FA/Trade priority #1 for GMBG is getting him a competent center this offseason…watching Rask last night was so painful…I now think GMBG will either go HUGE for somebody like Barkov or Eichel or he’ll search for a young RFA center who hasn’t been given the proper opportunity yet and playing with a stud like Kaprizov will elevate his game, similar to how Crosby turns career AHL wingers into 30 goal scorers, there will be no signing of a $5 million average joe journeyman #2 center…

When signing a Barkov or Eichel, yes, they will eat a huge chunk of the cap, but they are proven elite performers who play 25 minutes a game in all situations and you can pencil them in for 30+ goals and 80+ points at the start of every season…

Binnington is getting cocky. His confronting Talbot after the second sparked his team for sure. I wonder what he said.
Look for this only to heat up as they continue to play each other tonight and again over the weekend.
