    Here’s his 1st goal back: https://twitter.com/aleksithenefar1/status/1429495848438743043?s=21

Not bad for the kid’s 2nd game in the last 18 months!! He had an assist in his 1st game back (yes I know they were exhibitions)

Yes he’s not playing against NHL players, but these games are HUGE for his confidence going into camp!

And speaking of confidence, that shootout move takes some to pull off…

Exactly this. I’ve gotten into so many Twitter debates where people are convinced they are in a worse place those years because of the buyouts yet the cap hit is lower than if they actually were on the roster. People don’t understand numbers for some reason. They are only worse off the last year’s with the dead money. You can argue buying out Suter puts them in a worse place because he’s still serviceable that’s fine but it’s they aren’t worse off cap wise. One guy was arguing that Rask being off the books next year doesn’t help the wild because of the “increased buyout cap hits”.
[/quote] The only thing regarding the “cap savings” we get from the buyouts (especially in years 3&4) is that you’ll need to ADD their replacement player salary to their buyout hit to see the true cost, so we’ll most assuredly be paying more on Suter’s replacement vs Parise’s…

Depending on whether we can sign goligoski to longer term deal at low cap hit after this year that’s rumored.

The assumption too is that Suter’s game deteriorates at a quick pace after this season, which I believe it will… I’m thinking O’Rourke and maybe even Lambos is ready next year, or for sure in 2 years…They will be the replacements for Dumba and Gologoski on 3 year rookie deals…

How does his agent get clients!?! He looks like a total moron with his “10 figure KHL” offer called bs by the team..

Panarin and Bobrovsky can probably give you about 150 million ($$$) reasons why he’s their agent. Not sure who his other clients are.

Those were the exact same two names I was going to say. No idea as well who else he is an agent for. I said it before anything less than five years and Bill G and the Wild lost in the negotiations IMO.

I know he has those clients…. just saying he plays these obviously stupid games and has his bs called out publicly is just embarrassing…he must have watched too many episodes of “Ballers” to get his agent training….

Nice to get Khovanov back in the US and playing down in Iowa, we’ll get a good chance to see if there’s anything worth getting excited about or not…

Apparently KK does is not willing to sell out any of his UFA years. If the Wild and BG knuckle under to a 3 year 9 mill plus contract any and all future negotiations are going to be a real pain for them. Personally I feel a 9 mill aav for any player with 55 NHL games is overpaying and risky.

I don’t know and neither does anyone else what his performance level will be once he’s been around the league for one or two full seasons and opposing teams adjust to him. Vegas sure figured out how to corral him once the playoffs started. He scored six goals on them during the regular season. Once in the playoffs he scored one goal and one assist iirc. So maybe Vegas felt shut KK down you shut the Wild down. If that’s the case it worked but I don’t recall seeing KK being smothered more than anyone else. The difference in that series was Fluery. I recall Fiala having more and better scoring chances than KK.

Maybe KK doesn’t want to be “the guy” on a otherwise mediocre team who knows? But I have said from the start and still feel 55 games against 7 other teams and four of those among the worse the NHL has to offer is a awful small sample size to anoint him the next coming of Gretzky. He still needs to prove it to me.

Yeah and both are screwing their teams over……One will be riding the pine most of this year.

Yeah and both are screwing their teams over……One will be riding the pine most of this year.

Isn’t that even more reason for them to love their agent. We all know Bob sucks and his contact is atrocious, but the question is what player would want his agent? Pretty sure every player wants an agent that can pull that contract off.

Breadman has 150 points in 2 very short seasons with the rangers and you’re really going to say he’s “screwing them over”? It would be easier to make an argument that he’s underpaid.

I said it more for effect but I haven’t seen the Rangers win anything either with him. Having a superstar is great but at those prices the only team that has made it work with multiple top paid players is TB and they had to skirt the rules to even make it work.

And every other Stanley Cup team the last ten years. Washington Pittsburg Chicago LA etc. Not just TB.

Just to make sure I’m following… is the argument that players shouldn’t want Theofanous as an agent because he gets them too much money and then they can’t win the cup?

I just mentioned he’s an idiot and I can’t believe players sign with him, from stories Russo has told it seems like most NHL executives and reporters think he’s a tool. Lets be honest, the players stats justify the salary, i’m sure any agent could have got Panarin and others a similar contract, some agents are just willing to talk their clients into more risk of their future for a few million more in the end.

Yeah Russo has as much said Theofanus is a tool at the risk of Theofanus not ever giving him any information again. He at one time said if KK had any other agent the deal would have been done at the offer of 8X9 a couple months ago. With the benefit of hindsight and seeing where we are now I think Russo had that wrong.

I was just trying to say this agent is a tool and his deals aren’t great for the teams of these players he’s repping.

Agreed. From a team and fan perspective, yeah he sucks. From a player perspective… he gets them paid. Kirill knows who he hired to represent him, he’s not some naive little boy or innocent 3rd party here.

This is not all agent driven. Maybe you could have said that a month ago but now that we are this far into it and a contract is still “not imminent” it’s also the player. Yes Theofanus has a history of being a tool and hard to deal with but KK has said he is involved and they talk about this together all the time. This is getting ugly. The Wild front office must be furious. They purposely avoided dealing with Russian players for years because it can go like this. They must feel that decision is being validated.

I’ve been on the khovy roller coaster since they drafted him. Nice draft steal when they got him in the third due to health issues. Then he tore up the Q and WJC so I’m thinking future top 6 center. Then last year he couldn’t hang in the KHL and spent the year in the V so now I’m thinking AHL lifer until he goes back to Russia. Throw his “attitude issues” and crazy cellies in the mix and it makes for a very dramatic prospect. No idea what to expect from this dude, but it’ll be nice to at least have him in Iowa this year.

Torcetti coached him in the Q I believe right? He said he loved the kid, but you have to coach him different like with white gloves. Sounded like he didnt take to hard coaching well which is likely what happened in Russia last year. Obviously you want to see the kid succeed for our sake its best we have him over here under our watch for sure.

I sure wish the kid would grow another 3-4 inches…I see alot of Nicklas Backstrom in his game…that’s a damn good thing!

I suspect we’ll see Kaprizov sign his contract PRIOR to September 1st just so his crazy agent can claim the KHL $10,000,000+ offer was legit and he was ready to sign it 9/1 if need be…
