First sit of the vacation! A little 8 pushed a 6 point across the bean field while I was getting ready at the truck. Hopefully the big bucks start acting dumb!

Another beautiful morning!
Hoping there’s some big boys out searching. Set up on the edge of a ridge that generally gets patrolled heavily. 🤞🦌Attachments:
October 30, 2021 at 1:42 pm #2071005Found a mature metro public Buck for the second year in a row, and sealed the deal. In the shoulder out the neck, hit aorta and it was an easy track and dead real quick. I might do more of a write up later. Good luck, they are moving!

October 30, 2021 at 2:42 pm #2071011I passed up a nice 9 this morning. Camera was being dumb, so the pic isn’t great.

I think his mommy told him where you like to sit Randy! Sure looks like he sees you!
October 30, 2021 at 3:02 pm #2071019Slid over one stand for evening. 2nd half of an all day hunt. Currently trying to dig a mosquito out my eye….:???:

Well done
October 30, 2021 at 3:28 pm #2071025Congrats Bigwerm! Bucks are definitely moving. I sat until 10 this morning, and saw a total of 3 bucks one being a really nice young 10 I passed that came in to rattling. My dad had 3 bucks out in the field until 9:30 this morning. Eventually they got ran off by the farmer.
I moved down the field to hunt the top of a larger draw tonight.

Doe he was following was right behind me. I’m still in elk mode and everything looks pathetically small
October 30, 2021 at 8:44 pm #2071064Perch camera being dumb?
My phone was being glitchy. So when I tried to take a video it wouldn’t, when I tried to take a pic, it delayed. 🤷♂️
October 31, 2021 at 10:08 am #2071108Got into bow hunting the last couple years, have put quite a few metro does down. Finally had the largest buck I’ve seen (130-140”) at 20 yds, totally caught me off guard. Quiver caught a branch, alerted the fella, and I missed low. Brutal, but glad I didn’t wound him. New buck I’ve never had on camera, so I guess the deer are fired up!
B-manPosts: 5944October 31, 2021 at 3:13 pm #2071150Great buck Werm!
Been a lot slower today than I was hoping for.
I bumped a couple deer off scrapes in the pitch black this morning, saw one doe around 0830, and had two bucks chase a doe at 11. The bigger of the two chased the smaller one off which was fun to see.
Nothing in the last four hours, hoping it picks up before dark.
Had a little sleet come down, first frozen precipitation I’ve seen this year.
Sitting in my favorite funnel

October 31, 2021 at 3:55 pm #2071158Slow this am by all 4 people that we keep close contact with. Back at it tonight in Iowa.
October 31, 2021 at 7:17 pm #2071192Sat all day – miserable. Couple fawns, few squirrels, tons of mice. Pack of coyotes just after quitting time
B-manPosts: 5944October 31, 2021 at 9:15 pm #2071213Me too Randy, dark to dark.
After that 11am flurry I didn’t see another deer all day.
Made for a really boring afternoon and evening
October 31, 2021 at 10:22 pm #2071232November 1, 2021 at 8:03 am #2071250Beautiful morning, and I even got to see the first snow flakes of the year just as it was getting light!
Last night was a bust except a lone 6 point that came out right at dark. I bumped a buck that looked decent silhouetted on the skyline this morning. Since then 4 does came through and bedded behind me at the top of the draw.

B-manPosts: 5944November 1, 2021 at 9:55 am #2071285Nothing too exciting yet, deer were blowing all over this morning (most of them upwind and nowhere near me). Just had a little five pointer feed past me like it’s early October.
Good to see some movement at 10am, but nothing rut related.

Same thing, just slowly meandering and feeding on acorns and saplings

November 1, 2021 at 10:32 am #2071304Sat out great m 530 to 9, nothing. Absolutely dead. Came in to work on my pole barn and since about 945 steady does being chased around my yard and the woods below the barn. I left my bow out in my stand for later today…..regretting it now
November 1, 2021 at 5:32 pm #2071423I’ve got a short sit tonight. Had things to do all day, so just the last hour and a half. Went to the closest stand to the house suitable for a NW wind. 🤞🦌

Had another account or with that small ten. An absolute giant rammed him while he was chasing adult and wants to mop barrel rolling in the air. He split off and went down to me and I saw he had his hind leg broken, so I finish the job Archery buck tag punched

November 1, 2021 at 8:03 pm #2071452Here’s the broken leg. Amazing to see a whitetail launched so high in the air.
Love these DRT broadhead when hitting bone. Exit hole. Pass through and lungs and heart gone
