Saw 12 this morning. Only buck, one fired up little 6. I had a nice day doe coming and that turd chased her all over. Went over the ridge onto the neighbor’s and BOOM!!!! Little 6 came back alone. In a different stand for the evening.

Out tonight on some public looking for a doe to end my season, unfortunately spots A, B and C were already spoken for or blown out by duck hunters. Sitting on a good trail crossing in an opening in the woods now.
December 1, 2020 at 4:25 pm #1993134Out last night and zero happening until about 25 minutes of shooting light left…then had a couple fawns come in a low thick valley below is acting squirrelly and running around nervously…heard antlers crashing in the brush and two bucks came out fighting on their heels…they chased the fawns in circles in and out of a thick bunch of cedars…just like full blown rut behavior..never seen anything like it before this time of year…unfortunately a little too far and too fast to get any ethical shots…super fun night…this little forkie got strangely close too…

December 5, 2020 at 4:37 pm #1994356Go get him Carter! I’m in the Meat tree again tonight. Still hunted my way around for 2 hours. I’ll sit for the last 1. Wanted to grab all my memory cards but didn’t want to do that after dark tonight.

December 5, 2020 at 8:44 pm #1994451Well I was in the right area but the wrong spot. Had deer cross that opening but further in than I was. Heard a guy kill one with a muzzleloader pretty close to me. Hopefully is wasn’t the buck I’m after….
December 5, 2020 at 9:09 pm #1994462Dang Carter. To bad. I saw one small buck tonight. Checked all my cams. (14) Deer have been all early morning or nocturnal lately. Still no sign or word of Sticker…. I really wanted that buck. Got one bad pic of a big heavy 8-9. I believe he’s a visitor from another land. We’ll see if he shows again.
deertrackerPosts: 9237December 9, 2020 at 6:35 am #1995567Still at it with the muzzy but our deer are nocturnal. This time last year I was hunting in 12 inches of snow and the high was 7 below. At least it has been beautiful sitting outside.

December 11, 2020 at 3:56 pm #1996423Back at it for another weekend. Fingers crossed this colder air gets them out to the field a little earlier.

deertrackerPosts: 9237December 12, 2020 at 10:57 pm #1996753Was out this morning. No Deer spotted. I might hunt tomorrow evening. If not, I’ll wait to see if we get snow before bow season ends. If not I’ll focus on fishing.

December 13, 2020 at 12:05 pm #1996835Day 7 in a row of not hunting for me. Lots of work is keeping me out of the woods. Our deer activity has really tapered down to almost nothing during shooting hours. Wishing any of you guys still trying the best of luck!
deertrackerPosts: 9237December 13, 2020 at 4:48 pm #1996923Called it quits with the muzzy and didn’t go out today. Unless we get decent snow by the end of archery, I’m done.
DTDecember 22, 2020 at 8:36 pm #1999756Got out a couple more times and just could not seal the deal. For my first serious bow season I am actually pretty happy. I know public land is a pretty big learning curve but man I had some encounters with a handful of good bucks. If it somehow stays a bit warm before season closes maybe I will hop out one more time…
January 2, 2021 at 2:43 pm #2002495I dug everything back out for a couple more sits with the the muzzleloader. Its definitely beautiful weather to be sitting in a corn field!

January 3, 2021 at 2:59 pm #2002653Nice afternoon to end the season. Its going to be a last minute deal if it works out. It looks like the majority of the deer are coming from the bluff across the neighbors field behind me. I had 3 yearlings bucks in range last night just before dark plus a total of seven others on their way at the end of shooting light.
