Looking for some input, I have not done much tweaking with my previous boats.
Currently, I’m running a 13 1/4 X 17 K 3 blade aluminum Yamaha prop and am getting 37.5 to 39.5 depending on conditions. Motor kind of blows out at full trim and I don’t gain much speed going over 6100 rpm.
I’m thinking of trying a 4 blade nemesis to get more stern lift at slower speeds. I would really like to keep the mileage on our last trip with 3 adults , 2 70lb dogs and full gear we got almost 160 miles to 1 tank!
This motors rpm range is list between 5500 & 6300 rpm.
My question is should I be shooting to hit that 6300 or would high 5000’s be better for the motor and efficiency. Marina I’m buying the prop from says I’m just wasting fuel at 6300 rpm max hp is reached at 5500 rpm..
