Getting easier to find them with some of the snow melted!
Got these in about hour following paths with no snow left.

Nice finds! It’s good to see someone’s been out. Work has had me down in FL for the better part of the last 3 weeks, but I’m hoping to walk all day tomorrow. It will be nice to get out and cover some ground finally with less snow on the ground. Hopefully I’ll have a pic like yours tomorrow!

    Awesome. Heading out Sunday.

Any tips on starting locations? Fence lines, creeks, bedding areas? Or do you mostly aimlessly walk thru the woods?

Still way too much snow at my place. Maybe in a week or two. Maybe.

I found all these in pine trees. No snow under them and grass was flattened.

Bedding(especially south facing slopes), food and the trails in between. It’s been a rough winter so that seems to help narrow the search some since the deer tend to bunch up and not travel as far. The last time we had a winter like this it seemed like if you found one you would pick up quite a few in that general area. If you have areas of prime thermal cover like pines and cedars they will really gravitate towards that.

I’ll be heading in deep to some nasty country tomorrow to look for a couple specific bucks. Hopefully I’ll have a couple big ones to show off! Good luck!

I was out for 3 hours today and didn’t find anything. I was still seeing bucks with horns on last week, and it’s a highly pressured area for shed hunters I found out today.

I’ve been walking since first light, and finally got to my starting point. I just got to the first bench and walked up on the first shed of the day!

I am jealous of you guys. I have yet to get to the farm this spring which is extremely unusual for me. I actually can’t get there until the second weekend in April bawling bawling bawling

You guys keep up the good work!

Here’s most of the haul from Sunday… It sure is nice having the snow gone, but it’s now a scramble to get the ones I’m looking for off of public before someone else finds them! I normally pick them up as they drop but this year was tough. I should be out the next two afternoons and all day Saturday, hopefully with a arm full of antlers again!

What does everyone do with the sheds they find. I know someone that used to use them as knife handles. Is there a market for them?

Just had a shed hunter come through by my office on a mini-dirt bike, not sure if he was on something or onto something….

We use the sheds for decorations around the house, and have plenty of room for more!

I suppose I’ll eventually run out of room for them, but for now they’re just all over my house. I suppose I could start feeding the squirrels the less exciting ones! Actually there are antler buyers out there that pay by the pound, but I think I would have a hard time selling them.

Made a ‘sort of’ attempt Saturday, had my 6 year old with so we didn’t go very far and I didn’t have much time anyway, was more of a rescue my trailer cameras mission anyway. Didn’t find any but we did find a whole lot of ‘raisins’ and ‘cocoa puffs’ on the ground as my son called them.

It’s mostly for hobby and they make awesome chew toys for the dogs. I have a doberman and these last way longer than any bone from the store. Seeing all these makes me want to walk some woods this week.

DT- this deer was in an area that no hunting is allowed…he’s just hooked on shed hunting…luckily he hasn’t experienced losing a wounded deer yet…guessing it was hit by a car as it was fairly close to a main highway…

If someone would have told me yesterday (april fools day) that they are still seeing bucks that haven’t dropped yet I would have thought it was a joke. But, this evening I saw one that hadn’t dropped.

We found a couple in NE turkey hunting but nothing at home yet. North of the metro we have struck out. Southern MN still a lot of snow when we made our walk even in the Pines but ton of bedding and the deer didn’t move far but yet no antlers. We have our land and neighbors not one shed (

I walked a lot of miles over the weekend, and only found 2 little ones. I made up for it yesterday though with my first ever road shed!

I’m amazed at the photos you are posting.

I hope I can also find one.
