2019 Lund Pro V 189 Build Time

Had a dealer order a 2019, 189 Pro V GL, late last August. I took over the order in late Sept., changed a couple of options. Build was to be in Mid-March, then Mid-April, now saying week of May 13th.

    Question?

Anyone have any news as to why the delays? My dealer spoke with his rep and only info was the new build date.

Fortunately sold my old boat in March, feeling a little vulnerable with no water ride, lol.

Any info about new Lund glass production in Mexico is appreciated!

I looked hard at the Pro V GL this winter and had a couple of dealers tell me they weren’t ordering any new Lund glass boats in 2019 due to uncertainty about the new production line. That was one of the reasons I went down a different path.

I know Nelson’s Marine got 4 of them this spring and they didn’t speak of any delays but they had been ordered in mid-2018. Given the dealer concerns it doesn’t surprise me you are having some issues. I wish I had more info to share and hope you get your boat soon.

    Mike,
Not specific to Lund and or the new plant, but I can share that build times have been longer than normal in the industry. Difficult to be patient when you are excited waiting for your new “dream” boat no doubt.

My experience from this spring and Lund with an AL boat.
Ordered March 21. Boat was laminated April 18. Shipdate was Week of April 29th. Dealer said they would call when it showed up but the ship date could be delayed until they have enough boats to fill a truck. Dealer scheduled rigging week of may 13th. I know this probably doesn’t help in the case of a Glass boat but I believe it verifies Lund isn’t a completely clueless with a production cycle.

Having the trolling motor and graphs rigged this weekend, then a breakin day for both motors. I have had aluminum boats all my life, excited to ride and fish in the glass!

I just got my Reata 2 weeks ago – you will be amazed at the difference in ride between glass and aluminum.

    Nice looking boat – congrats!

I have never been in the water in a Lund glass boat, however, I do know that you have chosen the best dealer for many miles around to do your business with. I have bought sold or traded around a dozen boats in the last 20 years. Anything that I have bought from Mart has been exactly what they told me it was, and their service is excellent.
