Funny story about my hunt the other night. A decent 8 comes out 20 minutes before dark. I know it shouldn’t be shot but I haven’t shot a buck in like 5 years. I put the muzzy up, pull the hammer back and get it in the scope. I then come to my senses and release the hammer and put the gun down. I have 2nd thoughts and go for my muzzy again. I quick text my buddy and tell him I had a decent 8 in the scope. He replied, “Don’t do it!!!!”. hah Just what I needed. It wears on a guy passing deer every year that most people would shoot and think you are crazy for passing. But it is definitely paying off.

He went about 40 yards. The blood looked like that the entire way. Shot was about 115 yards. I’m excited to do some testing this summer with these bullets at farther distances.

Happy that the recommendations worked out for you. The 300’s are animals and with the 110 grain by volume, or 77 grain by weight, 209 charge they will function just like that out to about 250-275 yards as long as the accuracy holds together. The 300’s will buck a cross wind better than the 240 grain or 250 grain pills.

We get over in your area a couple times during the summer. If I know we’ll be in your area I’ll send you a pm and I can drop off some other good bullets and sabots. The 300 grain .44 cal Deep Curls and the 300 grain Swift A-Frames have great terminal performance too and might give even better on-paper accuracy.

Sounds good Tom. I’ve already had a few others want to make the switch as well.

Every night I come in from hunting with video of a decent buck and no shot, my dad shakes his head wondering what’s wrong with me. It’s hard to keep fighting it.

To anyone not in the woods, it’s impossible to explain how amazing it is out here! Seeing a huge rack coming towards me would be even better!

That would work! What’s the end of that story?
I only had a couple does that skirted past a little out of range.
