Happy Thanksgiving! Getting in some exercise this morning. The fresh tracks in the snow are off the charts! Buck #1 survived the firearms thus far according to numerous trail cam pics.
Super calm out right now. In a stand I haven’t hunted yet this year. Wow it’s beautiful out here!!!

Yesterday till noon had some doe/Fawn movement around me. No clean shot opportunities. Saw a doe and decent 3 year old buck on the walk out. Same stand as yesterday. They really moved through some time after I left yesterday. Track city out here!

Back on the edge of the corn field. Trying to make something happen one more time before the smoke pole comes out. I can see a lot from here so if nothing else it’s good scouting for tomorrow.

I’m still grinding. Been a decent day to sit all day. Activity has been very low around me. I was hoping the lurking storm would have them moving all day, but it hasn’t. 1 1/2 hours to go.

9 does. Slept in this morning. 14 below temps. Lost my motivation when I didn’t have a buck in daylight on camera for the last 2 weeks.

The big 8 (I think I posted a pic previously) by my office has been cruising with doe’s between 230-4 pm multiple times this week.

Shot a doe tonight. Was quartering kind of towards me but thought the angle was good. When I shot, she dropped and starting flopping. She then gets up and runs away like nothing happened. Didn’t find blood for 100 yards and not much of it. Walked a heavy deer trail for a couple hundred yards and didn’t find any more blood. Not sure what to think. Besides how I should have waited for a better shot.

    Shot high.

That’s what my buddy thought. He said the hole probably plugged with fat and she will survive.

Ended up thinning our small buck herd and be done for the season. We have a bunch of these forks around. Had a decent 8 come out 25 minutes before dark. Then had 3 forks come out about 3 minutes before shooting light. The new muzzy bullets worked awesome.

No problem finding blood there DT. Those 300’s really pack a punch. How far did the fork go after the hit?

    Nice deer for the table.

He went about 40 yards. The blood looked like that the entire way. Shot was about 115 yards. I’m excited to do some testing this summer with these bullets at farther distances.

Last day of muzzy hunting for me. Looks like they are still hitting the rye hard. 2 bucks and a fawn at the other end. I am not going to be picky tonight.
