Indeed it is and thanks for getting these started. The Live from the blind thread will be another fun one. Its always interesting to see what types of habitat others choose to hunt or maybe need to hunt. Good stuff and again thanks for starting these.

This is one of my favorite threads. It’s always interesting seeing peoples setups.

I’ll start it off with a scouting pic of a new farm I picked up permission on a couple weeks ago. I watched 16 deer, including 3 bucks, funnel up out of this small draw before dark on Friday. Getting excited for my first week of vacation for the season!

Happy archery opener, and good luck to everyone getting out today! Only one doe so far, but she came through just a few mins too early.

Sitting on a major ditch crossing about halfway between the oaks and a pond. We’ll see if this heat has the deer moving to water.

Well day 4 and sit number 6, and I found myself on the ground on public. If I can handle the mosquitos it looks like it could be a promising spot. I’m really hoping to get my doe tag filled this week, but this heat seems to have the deer staying in bed late. We’ll see if getting right in their bedroom works.

First time in the stand in almost 10 years, it was good to be back. First time putting in food plots, they seem to be working. I almost got a doe tonight but wasn’t able to get a shot. Saw around 12-15 deer total 5-6 were bucks, 1 will be a shooter in a year or 2. I tried to do this while in the stand but cell coverage is spotty at best from the stand.

First sit of the season. Thought with a cold front coming, that this would be a good evening.

I’m sitting on a 2 year old plot of Midwest Monster Mega Clover Plus and it looks amazing. Deer seem to agree from what I can see on the trail cams.

    Let’s see what happens.

New location, sitting on the ground now. More of an observation spot.

Sitting on the edge some beans tonight. It sure feels a lot better being out with this cooler weather.

Tough wind tonight for stand options. NW is always limiting for our layout. This approach may be the best option.

I’m in the same boat tonight, and that’s why I’m sitting on the ground. The worst part is it keeps switching directions as well.

Evening sit of my first day of bowhunting (ever), sitting in a place I’ve had success in the past. Morning hunt was uneventful.

Live from the ground… Ran into a stand and pulled the card to find not a single buck pic. Made a last minute decision to climb back down, and walk back to some fresh ribs near the pond. Just feels good to take a break, from way to big of a house project for this time of year, and do a little hunting!

Sitting over a major scrape at the bottom of a drainage tonight. I have does bedded about 60 yards away, and had a doe and fawn come through already. Now I just need the big one to come through!

Ended up in same place as last week, had intended to hunt new areas but found one too swampy with no fresh sign and the other I swear had a tornado hit it earlier this summer. Two does so far that trotted through out on the field.

I wish! Note to self, ribs would make a great treestand snack. You could even warm them up over the Jet Boil.

A little sun is showing itself but temps are upper 30s. Quite breezy with 20 mph winds from the south. Doing a ground sit this eve.
