Took this buck on November 4th. Unfortunately my arrow hit branch an I hit him in the neck. Got in my stand a little late at 7:15 am and was fortunate enough to take him at 7:30.

One heck of a neck shot though. How far did he go? Nice work.

Nice one, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. I’d like to hear how far he made it too!

I’d say he’s both lucky and good!

25 or 30 yards maybe, but truly wasn’t the intended shot .

Thanks for letting us know, don’t beat yourself up that stuff happens and thankfully led to a quick clean death. Congrats on a beauty!

Not that it may have mattered, but what broadhead was used?
Congrats on the effort and reward of a nice trophy.

What I want to know is, where did you learn to walk like a doe? He must have followed you in, grunting and snorting. doah

Glad it all worked out for you.

Great back drop for the pic. Glad you recovered him. Sounds like a clean kill despite the bad shot. I did that a few years ago on a palmated rack buck, hit a small trig, my arrow went wide and I hit him in the hind quarters. Blood just sprayed from him. I hit the femoral artery by luck. He only went about 30 yards. Only deer I ever put 2 arrows into. Even with the blood spraying, when he layed down I put one through the boiler room. Unnecessary in the long run, but did not hurt anything.
