2018 MX1825 Rear Livewell Fill Pump

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. My pumps run fine but to get the fill pump on the rear livewell to pump water, I need to disconnect it from the base and let water start flowing into my bilge. Once I do that, it’s fine. But if I run on plane, I need to do it all over again. Once in a while I can reverse the motor hard enough to force start the pump but not always.

There is no way to get to the hoses in the bilge to see if there is a “hump” or if it is raised above the bottom. From what I can see, it stays pretty flat. I don’t usually use it but when temps come up I like to have it ready for a fish that needs some extra TLC and O2.

I have an mx2025 and I have problems with the rear livewell not working. I am not sure what you mean by “disconnecting it from the base” the only pump in my boat that has a base that I can tell is the auto bilge pump. I would really like to understand what more about what you do to get it started again???

Inside my battery compartment, right behind the batteries, are my livewell intake pumps. They are a twist lock type that twists into the base mounted to the floor. To get my rear pump to work, I press the button on the side of the pump and twist. Once it’s separated from the base, water flows into the bilge. Then I reinstall the pump and it works like it should.

I’m pretty sure it is an airlock that it causing this but can’t tell why or how to fix it.

ah…mine is completely different, except for the airlock I am guessing. Both of my fill pumps are underneath the livewell in the passthru from the trolling motor battery compartment. and they are not the type of pump with a base.

That will make it a bit harder to get to. Glad mine are where they’re at. At least I can get to them if needed.
