Back out in the corn stubble tonight. Found a nice tractor rut to sit in to get out of the wind. Hopefully the deer cooperate a little better on this sit!

Crunch time now….. figuratively and literally. Here’s luck to you!

Its amazing how little can hide a guy if he’s not making any sudden moves. The pickers missed a single row of corn along the field edge where I hunt and on a couple days I’d get out of the stand at 3:30 and go sit behind a spot where I cleaned leaves and twigs away behind a few stronger stalks so I could watch the late evening deer. Twice I had a couple fawns, certain that they were the same ones each time, feed within about 15 feet of me before getting my scent from the wind. I also had a six point buck come from the far corner of this 52 acre field right to where I was sitting just before dark and I could have poked him when he entered the woods. Its something to have animals that close to you.

Had a chance. 2 big does and 2 fawns came by me 25 yds while I was stalking a different doe. I was looking right, they came trotting by from my left. Couldn’t get the bow back fast enough…… Next year I guess. bawling

Strong effort guys!! Doesn’t look like I will get back out this year. Only about 9.5 months until we start again!! chased

Good thing we have turkeys and walleyes to keep us busy in the mean time.

Good Luck to everyone taking advantage of the last day of season! I’m done for the year after putting in more hours than I ever have before. Time to get the rest of my cameras out to start finding the bucks for shed hunting season, and maybe thin the coyote population a bit.

I’m jealous of you guys. I lost my local bow hunting spit a few years ago. Life makes it hard to get up to the hunting land that is 4 hours away. I need to scout this summer and lock a local spot up.

Was out this AM looking for a doe or buck. Went out about 6:15 and made it till 9:30 or so. Didn’t see a thing. I set up in a swamp below a ridge and all the cold air was where I was.
We have a little time left so thought I would give it a try. Lots of tracks but did not see anything. Left the blind and will give it a try this evening.
