Had a doe come running through this morning, followed by a little 6 pointer shortly after at the Eden Prairie WPA (unofficial) out my office window.

I moved onto public land tonight. I’ve got 2 scrapes freshly hit about 20 yards away. Lots of sign all along the crp! Good luck to everyone!

October 30, 2018 at 3:10 pm #1806745New piece of public tonight. Hopefully the deer will be moving at this one. It’s about time to head back to the farm to try and get a doe shot as well before gun season rolls around. I’m sitting on a old road bed that flattens out on a large bench.

November 2, 2018 at 2:15 pm #1807350Well it’s the last afternoon before I hand the woods over to the gun hunters for a couple weeks. I’m sitting on the corner of the woods on a corn field that was picked last night. I also have a few apple trees in front of me that are still holding a fare amount of fruit!

deertrackerPosts: 9231November 3, 2018 at 9:38 am #1807455The morning started off quick. Two does came out right away. 10 minutes later a small buck came out and chased the older doe around the field and in and out of the woods.
DTNovember 3, 2018 at 12:36 pm #1807466Shot a buck 3 minutes after shooting light. Small fork rack, big body. Primos can had him snarling and snorting all over

deertrackerPosts: 9231November 3, 2018 at 1:42 pm #1807475It was an exciting morning for my son. He will get his own post though. Lol
DTNovember 3, 2018 at 5:19 pm #1807505Quite a bit of action up on the NE corner of Mille Lacs… several small bucks, does, and a herd of turkeys for me including one 2.5 yr old 8 that was taunting me stoping by 8 times so far in his search for love.
Overall our group is 1 for 4 with my friend taking a 9 pt this morning.

deertrackerPosts: 9231November 3, 2018 at 7:21 pm #1807531We were covered in deer tonight. Bucks were chasing like crazy. My son saw a long tined buck chasing a doe in the woods but it never came out. The bucks that were chasing were very vocal with their grunting. Also saw a small 8 make a scrape in the middle of a hay field. Thought that was weird.
DTJohn TimmPosts: 360November 3, 2018 at 7:34 pm #1807533Hunting north of Mora. All does and fawns so far with no bucks around? Weird how some say the rut is on?
deertrackerPosts: 9231November 3, 2018 at 7:38 pm #1807537I’d say it is definitely starting where I’m at. My son’s buck was chasing hard and saw 3 other bucks tonight chasing hard.

I hunt in grandy just north of cambridge and the rut is going. Every doe I seen yesterday was being chased. I pulled the trigger on the small rack not knowing the big one was about 10 minutes out. I seen 5 bucks yesterday. All were vocal and irritated looking.
November 5, 2018 at 11:42 am #1807802I saw at least 5 different young bucks on Saturday each multiple times, only 2 yesterday and only once each plus a few does including one still with her fawn, and so far only a single spike buck today and a coyote.
At least I confirmed my rifle is shooting straight!

November 5, 2018 at 12:17 pm #1807813Seeing lots of does with fawns and small bucks west of Cushing. Most the small bucks are searching. One was on a doe. No big boys during light yet.
Snowed pretty hard for an hour this morning, then the trees rained for another hour.
Nice job on the yote Will.

Thanks! Super healthy and a perfect looking pelt so I took a break and skinned him out. Now comes the hard part… to convince my wife that he’ll look good hanging on the wall

deertrackerPosts: 9231November 6, 2018 at 6:36 am #1807955Rain is changing to snow in NW MN. It’s a little warm still so it will be messy for a while. Thursday the temp drops out here with more snow. Temps down to 10 degrees at night. Sitting on a fence line stand thins morning to give my stand a break. I’ll post pics when it lightens up.
DTClownColorInactiveThe Back 40Posts: 1955November 6, 2018 at 7:20 am #1807960Not much going on here. Been raining all night and this morning. Sloooowly turning to snow. I usually see multiply deer a day…saw two in 3 days.

November 6, 2018 at 7:41 am #1807964After 9 days straight in the tree and yesterday back at work I really envy you guys. I’d give my eye teeth to be back in the stand today. Good luck!!!
deertrackerPosts: 9231November 6, 2018 at 7:50 am #1807965Patrolling the fence line today. It’s not a property line though, just a cattle fence. You have to be quick on the gun as they cross pretty fast. A doe and a fork so far this morning.

tbro16InactiveSt PaulPosts: 1170November 6, 2018 at 10:54 pm #1808193I’m down near Byron where we’ve got that 7 point minimum restriction. About all I have seen thus far are little bucks. Probably 5 or 6 now. I’d kill for a yearling to walk out in front of me at this point. Never claimed to be a trophy hunter!

Tbro….have you got people in the woods moving deer?
I want another doe to fill my sausage meat needs, but there’s no one in the woods moving deer. Where we normally have a whole weekend of banging where I hunt between Saturday and Sunday I think I heard a total of 12 shots and most of those were a long way off.
I saw three deer yesterday late in the afternoon and none would have made the 4 point rule or been big enough for me to pop. The smallest fawns I have ever laid eyes on are all over this fall….25 pounds maybe.
When the front came thru in the afternoon we had some major league blow going on. I think the big blast hit 50mph. I was out of the stand as soon as that sucker hit. Ironically the three deer I saw were being hustled along by the wind, I guess they didn’t like it either.
