2018 IDO Fantasy Football League

Back by popular demand (at least one person), I have created a Fantasy Football league again for IDO members who want to play. If you’re interested send me a PM with your e-mail address and I’ll get a league invite sent to you. Even if you played last year I’ll still need your e-mail address so you can be invited to this year’s league.

Mr. Haas I’ve sent an invite to your e-mail address since you already sent it to me.

In the past I’ve typically had 579 people say they’re interested and we usually end up just scraping by with 10 or so who actually follow through, so it’s fair game for anyone, just PM me your e-mail address.

Ha…when did we even have 10 the last couple years? Not counting the “ghost” teams?

Well surprise surprise? Last 2 years we didn’t have enough to make an 8 team league without ghost team.

Thanks Dan! I’m in now. Good for the rest of you because I’m typically an easy opponent. I manage passively.

Good thing too is that the league champion should get a nice haul with all the more “players”.

I like giving more than receiving so I will package a nice prize for the champion. Also I propose not limiting to crankbaits but whatever deserving fishing goodie package that players want to submit. It’s fun!

How does the winner prizes work. First year in the league. Do we each individually ship our package

Prizes go to the league champion and their are playoffs just like the NFL.

Last year we all just sent a crankbait or other lures/fishing tackle (not junk) to @haasjj who coordinated the giveaway. Not sure if he’s doing that this year again?

Don’t need to spend a lot, could be something new you never used. I thought the winner prize added another element of fun.

Just a reminder, the draft is scheduled for 8/26 @ 6pm online. If you’re not available a team gets auto-drafted for you (most of the time those teams end up better than the others anyway). Draft order gets set randomly by the website and will be snake style, meaning 1-2-3-etc. and then Round 2 goes 12-11-10-9-etc.

I’m in again. Looing like we have 12 teams already. Please send them sooner than later. Last time I coordinated it we were still trying to get cranks sent during the playoffs.

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to win the league twice. It’s as good as Christmas, plus it makes me try some new stuff. I hope everyone is in. If you don’t send one in, you won’t win them. I’ll drop a note on the NFL message board too.

Serious question – Do you know if the draft can be done completely from a mobile device via the app? I’ll likely be drafting from the middle of a lake somewhere…

I’ve got the app on my phone and I’ve done a mock draft on it, so I assume it’ll work.

Since we bumped it to 12 teams, what are your thoughts on expanding playoffs to 6 teams? With only 4 teams, half the league could be out by week 10. Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys, I moved the draft to Monday, September 3rd at 6pm. I hope this doesn’t cause any heartache for anyone. I just figured we might as well wait until preseason is over with that way we’ll have all the final verdicts on injuries, roster moves, signings, etc. (Example: Who knew that after a few backfield injuries Adrian Peterson would be getting a call from the Redskins?)

OK so maybe Labor Day night isn’t the most convenient time for a draft. Let’s do this coming Tuesday night at 6pm-final answer. Sorry for some confusion, I honestly do just want things to work for everyone and be fair, but I guess it isn’t always going to work for every single person. So 6pm Tuesday it is. Let me know if anyone has any issues.

BearCat, did you get that sent out? I haven’t seen it yet and thought I’d check. My folks watched the kids this weekend and want to make sure they didn’t get it and toss it somewhere.
