Dang 3 for 5 on bucks is a good weekend. Nice deer.
November 6, 2018 at 11:40 am #1808050we are a group of 5 but we all dont hunt in the same area. we actually are in 2 permit zones. through my years of experience, it leads to feast or phanom. so one group heads one way my son and i go another. we are probably 35 miles apart.
November 6, 2018 at 1:44 pm #1808080Took this picture as I walked up to it after I shot him. This after an hour, long story but I think he was paralyzed by my shot. Could only move him head. Felt bad but after looking at my options I ended up doing the Columbian necktie to end the misery. I didn’t want to shoot him again. Them 220 grain bullets can do damage.

November 6, 2018 at 2:22 pm #1808088220? Dang. My 150s I thought were harsh. Sad story with the buck. Did you give him a pet and thank you afterwords. I’ve always done that after a kill and before I gut

November 11, 2018 at 8:53 pm #1809294Got this 9 pointer (my #2 PB) this weekend by Kellogg, then saw his 10 point older brother while having breakfast this morning, and saw their grandpa 500 yards across the field. So I’m pumped for next year already!

blackbayPosts: 699November 27, 2018 at 12:23 pm #1812956The second pick is of my buck from 12:30 opening day. A nice 6pt 140 pounds. On Monday the 5th I watched another buck feeding for quite a while before he walked off. I said a little prayer that he would hang around until my son could hunt later in the week. The first is my son’s first buck, 7:03 on Friday the 9th. Another 6 point 140 lbs. Same day and date of my first buck back in the day BTW. He made a 150 yd shot to boot. I’m 99.9% sure it was the same buck I saw feeding on Monday. On Friday he was hot on a doe. Overall a great year, we went 6 for 11.
