I am looking into purchasing a new Competitor. Looking for pros and cons of the boat from current owners? How does it handle rough water (waves 2+ feet)? How is the stability for fishing with kids?

It is currently powered with a 150 Yamaha, anyone have any issues with this motor. I had a 75hp (2006) on my last boat and it was a very durable and reliable motor.

    Thanks in advance.

I bought a new 185 Edge two years ago. It was cheaper to put a 175 Suzuki than a 150 Yamaha. I’m glad I maxed it out. I would recommend a 175.

Max HP on the 2018 Competitor is 150.

I didn’t realize that. I think you will be happy with the 150 Yamaha. Just follow the manufacturers recommended break in procedures most importantly. The dealership should be able to recommend a good prop for it

No worries, dealer web site states it should hit the low 50s. Which is plenty fast for me, should put a good cruising speed at 3/4 throttle to save gas.
