The kitties were sure littering the shoreline last night.

My target was crappie, but 9 of these decided to crash the party. Slip bobber with a small jighead and Gulp minnow. Is it a coincidence that I was using Gulp minnows that have been marinading in JB fish sauce crayfish scent? That stuff is phewy.

Red River, end of May, we started the day with this double. If memory serves they were both in the 13-15lb range.

Kitty not special at all other than absolutely blasted with leeches. Never have seen so many in my life. Leeches on both eyes blinding the poor fella.

Had a really fun first night back out shorefishing since the rivers went down. Was on the Minnesota near Savage. Night started out slow with 3 guys, two rods with cut sucker and mine with a live bullhead (trying to get lucky). Once 1030 hit our bells we’re going crazy. Caught around ten channels from 1030-1200. Nothin big but a couple decent 5-8 lbers. Just fun to get out and sit on shore with a couple drinks and a nice fire again.

Got this nice one last week on pool 5. No weight on it but it was screaming line off, with the drag set pretty tight. Nice fight. Night crawler on the bottom in 14 fow. Released it to grow some more.

Certainly not my biggest, but I haven’t been chasing them much this year. Not that the river levels have calmed down, I may get back after them.

My wife and I got into some nice channel cats over Labor Day weekend. All caught on fresh cut sucker on current seams in about 7-9 feet of water. Also got a carp while fishing for bass along a shoreline. Had to take pictures of it with the jig in it’s mouth. Fun fight on a medium action spinning rod.
