I have a 2017 WX 2060 with the standard set back. I would like to order a Mercury Bravo 1 prop. I hear good things about this prop. I read the other posts on this subject but not everyone replied with what pitch prop they ended up with. I will be mainly fishing Saginaw bay and Lake Erie with a full load.

    Thanks

I’ve got a Bravo 1 FS 20”. I can only turn it 5700 rpm on my 2016 WX 2060 and not heavily loaded down. Went back to the Yamaha prop as it was faster and more fuel efficient for me. Selling the Bravo 1.

I run the Bravo 1 on mine. I can only get 5800rpm out of it. I have the motor up in the 3 rd hole if I remember right. It runs 54mph, has good whole shot, and handles well. I think it needs to get a little higher in the water column to really preform. This is definitely the prop, if you have the jackplate. I had the SWSII in the 19″ pitch to start with. It is a definite improvement from that.

What pitch are you running on your Bravo 1?

If you’re going to try a Bravo 1 prop, you may want to try the Bravo LT, instead of the Bravo FS. The LT was designed for boats such as yours, that have kickers, and are heavy in the rear. I have a 2017 MX 2040 w/kicker and a power setback, and tried 19″, 20″, and 21″ Yamaha props. 21″ was too much prop, 19″ great take off, 57 mph and too many rpm, 20″ 58.5 mph 5950 rpm, good take off, best prop overall of the Yamaha props, and quite honestly, not a bad overall prop for my setup. Called Mercury, and two other major prop shops, and all recommended the LT prop for my setup. Ordered a Bravo LT in 20.5″ and had these results vs the Yamaha 20″, 6100 rpm, 59.5 mph, much much faster take off and faster rise to top speed, take off with the Mercury 20.5″ seemed faster than the Yamaha 19″ also, 2-3 mph lower speed on plane, much flatter running in waters with swells, such as lake Michigan. Engine mounting height apx 1″ higher than Yamaha 3 blade. Tried higher, and was ok in a straight line, but broke loose in a hard turn. Have since purchased a 21″ LT to bring my rpm’s down closer to 6000, but won’t be able to try till it warms up. Our boats are very similar, except that you are apx 300 lbs heavier. I’m at 6100+ rpm with a 20.5″, so I would think you should be around 5900 rpm with the same 20.5″ if you have the ability to set the proper engine height with a power setback plate.

I bought a bravo 1 lt as suggested for my 621 yamaha 20 degree. so far not really satisfied with the performance. What rpms do you have and what prop you running now? what you getting speed. also are you looking for low end for rough water or just speed?

I ended up ordering a 19.5 pitch Bravo 1 LT. I will post the results after the weather breaks.

Looking forward to hearing how the LT performs…

I am looking for just an extra prop just to have just in case…

I finally got my 2017 WX2060 out Friday. 54.8MPH at 5950 RPM, would occasionally hit 6000 with the stock 19p SWSII. I felt that was scooting pretty good for the stock prop. Handled decent as well. I feel the bow is pretty log when trimmed out as well. I want to get it in some chop and rough water to see how it does though.

My problem is the rear end likes to get really squirely. You don’t dare take your hands off that steering wheel, or if I slowed down it wanted to steer hard one way. It wasn’t the same direction each time. Could be me having to get used to this boat. I am used to a ZV21 that I could put the hammer down and not touch the steering wheel as it was pretty solid.

What hole is your motor mounted in as well? I am three down from the top.

I will say I do love this boat though! SO much fun.

I run one hole from the top with a Yamaha 21M prop at 57mph with myself and all my gear.

I finally was able to get out yesterday. After I properly broke in the motor, Here are the results with the 19.5P Bravo 1 LT.

2 guys, 3/4 tank of fuel, Full of gear.
51 MPH at 5200 RPM. Great hole shot and slow speed plane (20 MPH). This prop seemed a touch squirrely at full trim.

Just wanted to give an update now that I have 20 hrs on the Motor.

    With the 19.5 P Bravo 1 LT.

2 people full load, 56 MPH at 5800 RPM. I would order the 19P if I were to do it over again. I still need to try this prop with the motor raised 1 hole.

This prop has much more bow lift the the stock 3 blade. Slow planing speed at around 19MPH. Good hole shot even with a full live well and 4 guys in the boat.

I swapped out the 19 SWSII for a 18 SWSII up in canada for a day.

A little better hole shot but lost 2MPH (52MPH at 6150rpms) and lost quite a bit of lift. Much more planted and didn’t cavitate on hard corners. But I feel it wasn’t as fuel efficient as the 19 for obvious reasons. Running almost 80 miles a day, I wasn’t concerned about top speed more or less fuel efficiency.

I will go back to my 19P SWSII till the power jackplate gets installed.

    I am overall impressed with the 19 (54MPH 5950rpms).

I suspected the 18 would be too many RPMs , but now we know !!!
