I just got this one at home. Never had a bear around before that I know of.
Not much to report on deer-wise. Not much showing up in my area as far as antler growth.
Here’s a bear rolling around one of my mineral licks.
Grouse
A couple that are way ahead of the others on the two cards I pulled this afternoon. I can’t wait for them to start showing some real character, but I love watching them grow!
This little guy hung around for an hour before he messed with my camera.
Well I hung one of the last two trail cameras yesterday, and hopefully I’ll be able to hang the last one tomorrow. On the way out I pulled a card, and the antlers are starting to take shape!
Figured I would throw up a few more pics now that they are getting a little more impressive! The pics are from 2-3 weeks ago… lots of growing season left!
This doe has been like this since last year.
Never thought it would make thru the winter.
Not only did she make it but had twins to boot.
I really like the videos, but it takes way too long to go thru them all. My cams at the farm get checked once every 2 months. It would take me a week just to go thru all the videos, plus I am sure the SD card will fill up in about 2 weeks, then the cam is worthless until I get a new card in it. For this reason I usually run them on pic mode.
A couple of the better ones showing up on a regular basis. Hopefully they will put on some tine length before the growing is done.
@beachbrian, can you pin this one and un pin the 2016 thread?
Thanks, DT
I don’t have any real big ones on camera yet. Only for sure shooter I have is a big old 7 point. These two have been coming once a week for the 4 weeks I’ve had my cameras out. Fun to watch them grow from week to week.
One more pic of the first deer that shows a little more of his character. Sorry I had to ruin the scenery Only two more months!
Not a trail cam pic but my buddy just sent me this one. It was by my rifle stand. He said a 2nd of the same size was next too it.

That unicorn looks miserable with all those bug bites. Does he live in swamp?
Do you have any video of him? I wonder if he has a hurt right leg that messed up the left side of his rack.
Sticker, that bushnell lights up that whole field.. UNREAL! Pretty crazy that buck is pretty far away and it triggered the camera right in the center of the frame.. Wow.. bushnells are king.

Yep, pretty darn impressed with this cam. I should have bought more of them
I realize this buck isn’t special. I think the 2013 & 2014 fawns in my hunting area were hit pretty hard. Nice to see one that represents a little older deer.
He is no where near a swamp, but the area has a lot of ticks and there seems to be no shortage of flies and mosquitos. I assume this is partly due to the fact that there has been plenty of rain this rear.
As far as an injury causing the non-typical rack…
The deer appears to be healthy in the hundreds of pics I have of him this year, but I don’t have video to see him walking. This is also my first year hunting that property so I have no idea what he looked like last year. I was curious about a pedicle injury causing something like this since it now wraps down to the side of his head, but I don’t know if that would cause the 3rd antler. You can see in some pics the third/center antler is growing from a separate normal looking base like he was born with it.
All I know is he is a cool deer. I hope to get to lay eyes on him even though I suspect he is fairly young, and he will probably get a pass this year.
Finally got up top pull cards this past weekend. Someone messed with mine back in the woods but got this nice start in the backyard. Also many bear (no tag again this year) and turkeys.
Looking for advice!
Haven’t hunted in years, first year back! Bow hunting only for now! I have Permission on some property surrounded by farm land. Have a small set of woods you’ll see in photo. Marked is the trail cam location and the other circled is my general permitted area to hunt… for a cpl weeks got some decent shots of shooter 2 shooter bucks, one 4 year old the other about 3 maybe 3 n half? Crap load of does! However the bucks showed up on July 4th, and haven’t seen my bucks back since July 9th… I have a protein block out that the cam is aimed at. I’m trying to stay out of there to not spook them any other than putting a new block up and swapping memory card out every week or so (randomly) Any tips, hints, etc to get a better idea of where they are or if they was just passing by or will be back? Thank you for any help~ LOCATION CENTRAL KENTUCKY
Very nice bucks! Even if you find the bucks aren’t showing up regularly this summer or even early fall don’t get discouraged. If you have the does the bucks will show up during the rut. At least you know the bucks are in the area to keep you motivated!
A few from last week at home. 6 bucks in one group in the ag beans.
