Got an update from the same guy. He said in faster current there might be 7″ visibility.

Also, I saw a post on Facebook from someone up there that most of the debris has moved past Birchdale and most of the river. Probably still pretty messy down by Wheelers. Clarity was around 1-3 inches in the morning but 8-12 inches by the evening out by Birchdale so it’s improving.
Thanks for the links, looks like all three should be back to normal in the next day or two. My buddy is at Birchdale right now and said it’s 4″ of clarity and sent me a video of a bunch of trees floating by, so it’s still pretty messed up.
April 6, 2017 at 7:29 pm #1686948Pretty slow by all reports, with 0 or 1 fish from the people I talked to. Anyone hear anything better?
April 6, 2017 at 8:04 pm #1686952Fished a few hours yesterday out of Birchdale. Caught only 1 fish, it was 29″ so that was nice. Fished from I falls down to the Little Fork today. Caught a few but it was pretty slow for me. Saw people catching some by Pelland but couldn’t duplicate their success.

April 7, 2017 at 7:20 am #1687019Nice fish. Color looks like a lake fish. That would be a good sign.
April 7, 2017 at 12:57 pm #1687080Nice fish!
Does anyone know why all the little leeches the last few years? We were up the end of March and my livewell, carpet, judge ruler were all covered in tiny leeches??
Thanks,
Cory

April 7, 2017 at 2:38 pm #1687097We will be up sunday. Counting on the view up north being much better than the one from my sofa.
April 7, 2017 at 7:59 pm #1687128We were up on Tuesday. Visibility was 3 inches so we fished sturgeon. I was luck to get this 65 incher!

Brad DostalPosts: 156April 9, 2017 at 4:59 am #1687250We were out in the Vidas area yesterday and it was pretty slow. Clarity is getting better and better tho, so fishing should be getting better and better….
dj00140Posts: 34April 10, 2017 at 8:52 pm #1687572Lots of big females today pitching white plastics to rocky shorelines. Super slow was key last 2 days, not as much today. This one went 30.5″@ 11.5lbs

April 10, 2017 at 10:59 pm #1687597Very nice fish dillon. We got a few nice ones today to. Three 28s for big fish. Ended up somewhere between 60 and 70 walleyes for the day.
April 11, 2017 at 7:22 pm #1687842The clarity was getting significantly better each day, and I’d imagine it will be a great last couple days. Plus I’ve never seen so many sturgeon fisherman nor sturg being caught as I did this year. We put in the hours Saturday until 11 am Monday, and it was decent by Rainy standards. Which is still outstanding anywhere else. Not sure on the official #s but I’d guess we had close to 20 eyes over 23″ and my buddy got his first sturgeon a respectable mid-40s fish. Already looking forward to next year!

April 12, 2017 at 9:12 am #1687915All reports indicate that the river is clean again and fishing is stupid good. Leaving in a few hours myself.
April 12, 2017 at 9:16 am #1687916We fished all over the up river portion, from Birchdale to Vidas. Water clarity was great on Monday when we left, I’d say about 12″ or more. If I had the time and the $$$ I would have stayed up because I think it is going to be an amazing end of the season. Good Luck Francis and anyone else going, I look forward to your reports!
April 12, 2017 at 9:39 am #1687924Recent info on both. Looks like it is going to be a great end to the season.
