My buddy said that the neighbor has standing corn and he is seeing almost 50 deer a night in it. The only problem is that it is by a highway and new Road kills are showing up almost daily.

My buddy also said that he heard that a neighbor shot a big one but can’t confirm what one.

The angle of the later picture makes it tough, but I look at the “step on the end of the main beams on the earlier picture, probably the start of a G4. I can’t see that on the later picture, can you see that it’s there? Granted the angle may “hide” it because it isn’t being viewed side-on.

But hey, I’m not great at this. I suggested to my father that we go to a system of numbered ear tags on all our bucks to make this identification process much easier. Oh, there’s ol’ number 9…

I saw that too Grouse. I thought maybe it was just the angle. Otherwise I will have a couple wide ones next year.

Well I just scrolled through a couple thousand pics from the last week and a half, and I was excited to see one possible prospect at a new property for this year. It will be interesting to see what he turns into. There are 4 or 5 more draws to scout and the bottoms, but this helps with the motivation!
